hmm, i noticed the butter was better when i sprayed some of my leave-in condish first. i really liked the shine the butter left on my twists! love it!

First, I want to say that I am so thrilled that I am the resident chemist! I am humbled by everyone's responses!! My goal is explain the science that is in your products in an easy, fun and informative way!

Today's post is not necessarily about hair products, but about earrings that I have purchased from http://www.peruvianearring.com/index.cfm.

I really like the philosophy of this business: proceeds help support local artisans, etc in Peru. The United States currency goes far in Peru.

I purchased three pairs of earrings on November 18th and received them on November 23rd. The earrings were well-packaged. The earrings are true to the description on the site.

Here are the pics of my earrings:



this pair is made with three separate pieces of wood, and that is why it was easier for one of the pieces to come apart. a little super glow saved the day!!




Now, I ADORE big, long, ethnic earrings, but I think I met my match with these! Even though the site gave me the measurements and I measured accordingly, I don't think I was really ready for the size of these ones! Literally, these are the size of my face! They are bigger than the size of my palm:



Will I order from them again? YES!! Super fast shipment, products exactly as described, awesome philosophy and cheap! In fact, I am eying a couple more pairs as we speak!

As for those earrings I really like them. That last one is huge though lol! I may re-visit that site...

Wow, resident chemist . Congrats! That has a nice sound to it. I'm fairly new to this site so I am still making may way around getting to know the different people and styles on this site. I cannot wait for your wealth of knowledge to come my way.

tiashauntee, no the earrings are not heavy. they do feel and look cumbersome because they are THAT big!!

I love a challenge and that last earring definitely looks like one. An earring that big has to be worn with the right outfit. All of them are cute. I'll have to check them out. Thanks for letting us know what your experience was like with the site.

because my hair has grown so much since, i am pretty apprehensive as to how the KCNT and KCCC will look when i use this again next spring/summer.

hey, guys!!!!

its been forever and then a week since i have last updated!! i have finished with finals (2 A-, B), work and DFS is slowing down and now i can really focus on answering questions on my curlfriends thread and updating this thread!

So, my first update is that i finally took my hair out of my twists. Recall that I have been wearing twists since November 17th ish. I would just co-wash and DC my hair while in twists, rinse, untwist and then retwist with my shea mix. This is great regimen that I plan to keep because it helps maintain moisture, protect my hair and I FINALLY DON'T HAVE ANY FAIRY KNOTS!!!!!

My second update is in regards to my EVOO and EVCO DC mix: my hair is still moisturized (I did my last DC on Dec 12). I have had to moisturize, but not as much as before using this mix. When I do, its once every few days or so, and when I moisturize with something its something light like KBB hair milk or cream or a little bit of Safi's avocado butter. I would spritz my hair with a little bit of my diluted Giovanni 50:50 Hydrating Balance condish as needed. The EVOO and EVCO mix is ideal in cold environments (and man, is really really cold down here!! we even had frost this morning!) because it helps add and maintain moisture for longer periods of time----->retention of moisture means less hair manipulation.

My third update is in regards to new hair candy:



these brought more excitement while i do my hair!! yeah, i am distracted by pretty, bright things SMH. sad part though?? they break easily!! dang!!

LOL, I love bright colors also. I think that's why I finally tried curlformers. They are bright and my head looks like a glow ring with them in

lol at glow ring!! these colors make doing the hair more fun!! yeah, you should have seen my eyes light up when i found these!!!! oh joy!! but the joy was quickly gone when they break (and they break easily). will post pics tonight!
