Thanks ladies. I am currently sitting with henna in my hair for the first time in I don't know how long. I washed my hair with soap & not conditioner for the first time in over a month. OMG, it felt so good. I used my shikakai shampoo bar which is about to disappear. Its time to reup. I've been to one Indian grocery store since I've been in GA but they didn't have any powders . Anyway, my hair has definitely grown so I know that leaving it alone definitely has its advantages. The disadvantage is that all the hairs that would have shed had I been manipulating it had to come out all at once. It wasn't too bad though.

Well as I said before so much happened while I was gone. One of the more scary things being me having to rush our son to the emergency room. The night before we left to make our move to GA I cooked Tilapia, pasta, and spinach. My pumpkin is usually in my face when he sees me eating trying to get some of my food. He's eaten salmon before but never tilapia. I thought nothing of it to give him a couple small pieces of fish. He had been cranky so I changed him and put him to bed. I proceeded to clean the kitchen. My mother in law was downstairs and about 10-15 minutes after I put him to bed she said he's fussing. Its normal for him to fuss off and on from time to time when we put him to bed but I decide to check on him anyway. I get halfway up the stairs and he stops...I wait and its still silent so I go back to the kitchen. Another 10 minutes or so goes by and I hear him fussing so I decide he can come back downstairs to chill with us for a little while longer. I go in his room and bring him downstairs. When he gets into the light I see that his mouth is swollen and he's scratching his face. I try to see if I can open his mouth but he won't allow that. I feel his neck and his neck is swollen as well so I immediately realize he's having an allergic reaction. I tell my MIL that we need to take him to the ER...I snatch up our things and we are out the door. My hunny had to go ahead to GA for work that day and he hadn't been gone more than 30 minutes when this happened. On the outside I'm okay but on the inside I'm thinking, 'GOD please don't let my baby stop breathing.' I drove to the hospital, speeding, and ignoring DO NOT TURN ON RED signs while my MIL sat in the back with him. Every few minutes I was asking, "What is he doing?" He was content and watching tv. Once we got to the ER we were seen pretty quickly and as I suspected he had an allergic reaction to the fish. They gave him some Benadryl and we were on our way. Talk about scary...I felt so bad for giving it to him. I'm glad that we know now and we'll be getting him tested for allergies. The crazy thing is that neither his dad nor I have ANY allergies. Anyway, that's a situation I never want to deal with again. The emperor is doing great but no more fish for him until he's tested.

Awww poor baby! Glad he's okay though! Food allergies are the worst. I know/have met a few people who are allergic to damn near EVERYTHING. I'm like "HOW do you EAT??" Hopefully that won't be the case with the emperor. (I've even spoken to people who overcame the allergies as they grew older--so they claim.)

awww so glad to hear lil T is doin much better! giiiiirl that happened to me when mason was about a year old becuz ive never been allergic to anything but i had shrimps n some mo' so i gave him literally not even a whole piece of shrimp... his face broke out and his eyes were swollen, dmn near shut. i was sooooo scared and cried cuz u just DONT KNOW. even as mothers we're not perfect and its totally a living n learn becuz babies dont come wit manuals.

Welcome back, and sorry to hear about your baby. My daughter is 19 months and she is allergic to seafood. When I gave her fish she started scratching like crazy, she was rubbing her tongue on me it was on fire! I took her to get tested and seafood was high on the list. Sorry Taj.

Thanks for the well wishes ladies. It was just one of many mishaps I'm sure. If he has my clumsy tendencies he'll be tripping over his own feet, falling and biting his lip, falling off couches, etc. lol

@Nubie...I'm still locing my hair but I may or may not be postponing it for a bit. We'll see how I'm feeling about my edges by December. I think I'm still going to go for it in December though. I'm excited about it.

So yesterday I decide to try an experiment just to see what the outcome would be. After I henna'd and deep conditioned I decided to whip up a way off the mark version of Kimmaytubes leave in conditioner. Instead of using my KCKT I used KBB Hairmilk that I receieved from the wonderful Nubie. I also used Jamaican Black Castor Oil and Grapeseed Oil. HOLD......THE....PHONE.... THIS STUFF IS AWESOME!! My hair was even softer and felt more moisturized than when I used the KCKT today. Alone the hair milk was just okay. I use it on my sons hair with nice results but for me it didn't do much. It just goes to show what a little experimentation will do.

Welcome back! So glad to hear your son is well. I had an experience like that when my son was around 18 months old. He pretty much stopped breathing and I was so scared. Such a horrible place to be. Best wishes to you!

Welcome back!! I'm so glad your son made it through that ordeal. I had that happen to me with my youngest son when he was 9 months old. It turned out that he had asthma....that was such a scary experience.

I love KimmayTube's leave-in. It seems to work well even if you tweak the ingredients.
