For some people it is a dream to have hair that coils but it kinda sucks. Its so hard to detangle and trying to straighten or even just stretch for a rollerset is a nightmare! my ends snag on brushes(it pulled apart my denman) and never get completely straight. Also it looks uneven because some strands are longer than others. Please help me someone.

Hi Slinkyhead!

I have this type of hair, extremely coily. It seems as if time youhave detangled a section of hair it coils right back up! I've learned to handle it very gently when detangling. To prevent the snagging on my comb and brushes I make sure my ends are moisturized.

Always start at the bottom and work your way up. I put a little of my leave-in or butter on my ends and smooth it in. Next I will take my comb and comb gently and use my detangling brush if needed. Once the ends are detangled I make sure the rest of that section of hair is detangled then either plait or twist my hair. The key for me is moisturizing the ends and combing gently. HTH
