Mz. CiCi
So I haven't been natural too long (transitioned from August 2009- Jan. 10, 2010) but I've definitely learned somethings about my hair:
1. I don't really have a specific hair type, it just goes crazy
2. Two strand twists are my staple style
3. Blogging helps me grow
4. A college budget + being natural= creativity
5. Cantu flat ironing spray doesn't work too well for me. It leaves my hair kind of sticky and gross
6. Cowashing with Suave conditioner is awesome
7. Thank God for butters-n-bars

I'm glad you got braids. I was a little worried about you having to straighten you hair so frequently.

Re: Mz. CiCi
The season finished so I was so happy! lol. These aren't regular braids but like little sections of braids instead of two strand twists. I think my hair has been growing b/c after every flat iron/bun session, I deep conditioned for about two hours and babied my hair.
Re: Mz. CiCi
Thanks again for the warm welcome! I guess I should give a brief rundown about my hair.
In August of 2009 aka my freshman year of college, I finally decided to go ahead and transition from my relaxed hair to my natural hair. It wasn't an easy experience considering I had NO style experience! (seriously, check my facebook. I had HORRIBLE hair days). After about 5 months, I found bglhonline and curlynikki.com and the bantu knotout which is how I had my hair the day I bc'd (Jan 10, 2010).
My hair is a strange mixture and now I see how my hairstylist couldn't really tell if I needed a relaxer. The front, back and sides of my hair are wavy if not straight while the middle is very curly. It's amazing but it's my BabyLove (that's my hair's name).
Since I've been natural, it's been an amazing journey and one of self discovery.

Haven't been up here too much lately :-( the job search is killer! But I digress, can anybody help me with homemade deep conditioners? I want to find a nice one that has more natural ingredients plus I can't find my Organix Shea Butter conditioner anymore. Thanks!
Re: Mz. CiCi
Hey Another college curlie! Welcome!! lol How do you like the organix conditioners?? Alot of curlies just mix EVOO or honey with regular conditioners to deep condition. Have yet to try the honey thing, but I want to.

Hey Lil Sis!!
I like to use EVOO and EVCO to deep condition. It makes my hair so soft.

Yep and some heat....dryer or body heat. I sit under the dryer about 30 minutes.
