I'll be watching this subject because I need to know too. I use Bee Mine moisturizer that is water based and I love it but you have to order it online. Something that can be purchased in a BSS would be great!

Giovanni Direct Leave-In is a popular one. Alba Botanica is another and is, in my opinion, awesome. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

The first water-based moisturizers I tried were braid sprays and curl activator sprays. Now I make my own spritz with water, condish, glycerin (when available) , EOs and COs.

Re: water based moisturizers
Can you direct me to the page where you discuss what happened? I use it after cleansing, doing a protein treatment and moisture conditioning treatment. There are many factors that may have caused this to happen. Perhaps there was a product interaction, a bad one nonetheless [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] .Juices-n-Berries wrote:Chrs I mentioned in the challenge thread that the TTGAB made my hair hard. I always give a product three tries before putting it aside. I don't know if you would like to try again but it is worth a shot. I read the ingredients and nothing jumps out at me. Oh yeah, how long after the BC or was it before the BC? All in all, I would say give it another shot. Maybe try it on a small area on the back of your head.
Re: water based moisturizers
Can one of you ladies elaborate on water based moisturizers..
How do you know if it water-based? (is it because the first ingredient is water?
Also how do you know if your hair likes it or not?
Is water based better than oil-based? does it matter the season?
Thanks for your help in advance

I just received my Bee Mine Hair butter. I love it, too! Weighs my hair down a little, but it's makes my hair very soft and it smells yummy!

I huess with this hair product it depends on the hair. I tried it, and it didn't work well on my hair, and it also lacked the luster and shine that some of the reviews had given. I sold it a CG here in town ,a nd she has the same response, and our hair is nothing alike. I'm glad it worked for you, however for me I doubt I will ever try their products again... Re: water based moisturizers
So you know that its water-based because it's the 1st ingredient.
My hair doesnt like butters so I use water-based moisturizers exclusively.
My favorites:
Qhemets Burdock Root Butter Cream
Karen's Body Beautiful Hair Milk
Blended Cuties Down and Out Styles (love love love this stuff!)

Komaza Care Shea Butter Hair Lotion is THEBOOMDOTCOM!
AND Karen's Body Beautiful is awesome too! BUT Komaza is my fav, it's thicker than Karen's. But don't get me wrong...they're both great.
They're both water based and have GREAT ingredients. I highly recommend.

I just found a water based moisturizer that I heart already. It also has some hold. It is the Shea Moisture Organic Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie with Coconut Oil, Silk Protein & Neem Oil. Smells great and it's awesome.

Thanks Chrs for your help. I actually revisited the TT and it was fine. The other time I may have left in some product that I meant to rinse out.

Did you find in a Target store or order online? Sounds yummy and if I can find locally I'd love to check it out.

I saw it in the Target in Laurel. They had all the lines, crazy but true. They even had all the products. I will be getting the smoothie because it has the ingredients my hair likes.DvaAuNaturel wrote:poeticlyspkng wrote:I just found a water based moisturizer that I heart already. It also has some hold.
