i had the itch to cut today so i cut a small piece. . .
this is 7 months and 2 weeks of growth and as much as i want to keep my length i think i'm ready to part with my relaxed ends.

Re: 7 Months Post Relaxer
I am at the 7 month mark and did a mini chop on yesterday. I was really trying to do a long transition but since my hair was in a bob already, I got about 1.5 inches cut before I got my braids two months ago...So I took the braids out Thursday and there were parts of my relaxed hair that was so tangled! I didn't get frustrated though...my mom tried to save as much as she could but i just told her to cut the tangled part off... so i may have another 2.5 inches of relaxer on the sides and in the front so I'm thinking by August, I will be comfortable enough to cut the rest off (the back is fully natural). I have to take pics and then post.

Re: 7 Months Post Relaxer
Currently 7.5 months post and my staple styles are buns and braidouts. Just did a 2.5 inch mini-chop and my new avatar shows my current braidout length.

I don't plan on doing my BC anytime soon, curlynikki and maneandchic have helped me so much! We're all in this together! lol[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Everyone's hair is so beautiful! I'm a little over 7 months, and finally seeing a huge difference in my hairline. For the past few weeks, I've been co-washing and making a ponytail or a braided bun. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Re: 7 Months Post Relaxer
Hello everyone. I haven't had a perm since December '09 and my hair has grown out tremendously. I am totally new to this and LOVVVVVVVE IT. I am still a little skeptical about the transition but eager in a way too. I really don't want to do a BC. I really need some good products to use. I am a 4a-4b. Please help!!!!

Re: 7 Months Post Relaxer
I have been transitioning since 9/09. I have 4a/b fine hair. I use only Giovanni Products that can be bought at Whole Foods, Target, Walmart, CVS, Pharmaca, and health food stores. I use Giovanni SAS Deeper Moisture Shampoo to poo, SAS Deeper Moisture Conditioner and Reconstructor to DC, SAS Xtreme Protein Infusion or Direct Leave In as leave in, I set my hair with Giovanni Natural Mousse Hair Styling Foam and seal with castor oil.
Always be sure to balance moisture and protein in your products: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/278612/the_fine_art_of_protein_and_moisture.html?singlepage=true&cat=69.

Re: 7 Months Post Relaxer
Hello everyone! I'm new here! My last relaxer was December 5, 2009 so that puts me at almost 31 weeks. I'm currently in cornrows, I just got them last week. I hope these pictures aren't too big.
Here are some of my transition styles:
Signature Style - Rollerset with Small Magnetic Rollers (6 months post relaxer)
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
My Attempt at a Twistout - Two Strand Twists because I don't Know How to Flat Twist
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
I'm Rocking These Cornrows Right Now
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
My Hair last Monday The Night Before Cornrows - Washed, Deep Conditioned (moisture and protein mixed), leave in conditioner, Blow dried and called myself dusting/trimming some of the splits
Front - [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Back - [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Ok Here are Texture Shots
Hair Soaked in Deep Conditioner

Texture - No Product Hair Was Starting to Air Dry
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Texture - Leave Ins and Water while Rollersetting - 6 months Post

Re: 7 Months Post Relaxer
I am now 7 months post relaxer, but I have a potential set back. My hair was straightened for a wedding and she put a hot comb in my hair before I knew what was going on [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Now I am scared that she burnt up my curlies [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
