Curl Activator Gels
Has anyone every tried any brand of curl activator gel? How did you like it? What brand did you use? Would you say it replaces your ecostyler or ic fantasia gel or would it just complement the holding gel like adding the activator gel first? Just curious because I've seen some really good reviews on curl activator gel.

Re: Curl Activator Gels
My sister has used curl activator gel, and I would definitely say that it worked for her. Her curls is always popping, her hair is soooo soft and shiny, and it gets lots of compliments. She does has ecostyler but it definitely sits on the shelf a whole lot; she only use it when she wants to style her hair into mohawks. Btw, the brand she use is World of Curls. I have asked her were there any cons she said the only thing was that it was more expensive than most, but she also stated that she would rather pay the price for the results it rendered. It's not high, now. It's about $4.19 for a small container.

Omg! I am a curls activator ambassador, I use S-Curl Gel and Moisturizer spray and Care Free Curl Golf which acts as an activator and moisturizer...in my avatar pic I had a moisturizer, a hair polisher, and Care Free Curl in my hair...they don't dry your hair out bc they contain glycerin which softens the hair....I use them every day for my wash-n-gos and my hair still looks and feels shiny and soft by the end of the day...if you go the products forum, you will see a topic there for people who use all diff types of brands....again I highly recommend them! oh btw, I DO NOT like eco styler gel....but I do like IC Fantasia gel..it was my staple product when I was transitioning....

Re: Curl Activator Gels
I use Long Aid activator sometimes. I agree with you both about keeping my hair moisturized. When I use the ECO Styler or IC Fantasia, my hair is alway dry at the end of the day. I try to alternate between Long Aid, Curly Kinky, Eco Styler, and IC Fantasia. I will say that the activator makes my curls pop more so I like it the best. I like the Eco Styler gel too. Here is a pic of the activator I use and a pic of my hair after I used it this morning.

When my hair was shorter I lived for Long Aid Activator Gel. It kept my wash and go's flawless! I also would mix it with some Shea butter and use it for braid outs. Eco dries hard even the Olive one (to me) And the IC and my scalp don't get along. Some thing in it im allergic to. *shrugs* LA for the win!

Re: Curl Activator Gels
Long Aid curl Activator gel is wonderful. Leaves the hair moist all day if I put some coconut oil on before or after. the only thing is that if you're in a highly humid area, your hair will not dry no matter even if you sleep overnight on it. The glycerin just holds on to the moisture

Re: Curl Activator Gels
I dunno if this qualifies,
but I have used this stuff called
FX Curls Up
I found it in Walmart for about $4 a bottle
and it's wonderful.
Doesn't dry crunchy in our hair
and has just enuff glycerin in it
to make hair smooth & shiny
almost giving the 'wet look'.
Kinda like a Caucasian curl activator :S

I just started using Aubrey Organics Sea Buckthorn Leave in and Curl Activator. It leaves my hair soft, curly, moist, and shiny but not greasy.

On some online product reviews, I read about the smell but there was NO noticeable smell! My hair type is 4a/b, fine, loves protein and very porous.
I use the AO Sea Buckthorn leave in and curl activator with AO Mandarian Magic and put castor oil on my ends. I am in love with my hair again!

oooooh sounds good
i was going to buy the AO sea buckthorn leave in and curl activator, but i didnt see too many good reviews about it. i currently use kccc, which is decent. i bought shea moisture's curl enhancing cream today, and it seems promising

I bought it because I wanted to use a curl activator to help with moisturizing my hair, and it was the only organic and natural one that I could find. All of the reviews that I saw were good, except for the reference to the egg smell, because it contains egg protein. My only complaint is that it only comes in a 4oz bottle, which might last me a month.
KCCC makes my hair look like a jerri curl. SM coats my hair and makes it look dull and greasy. My hair does not like heavy leave ins.

I've read a lot lately about AO products, I'm adding the curl activator to my list. Vita cost has AO product.
