Well I was never really a fan of hair. I for one am a low maintanance type of girl. Nothing but ponytail and buns for me. It was'nt until June 2009 that I started being into healthy hair. My relaxed hair was not unhealthy although my scalp felt like it was on fire most days. It itched so badly. But after joining another hair forum, I saw the limitless possiblilites of hair in general.

Fast forward to October 2009 and I'm on youtube looking for videos about hair (as usual) and I come across a youtuber by the name of BeautifulBrwnBabydol. She had a video about transitioning and going natural and wearing your natural hair with confidence. I was intrigued immediately. Started searching more videos about natural hair. And then low and behold by the end of the week, I decided I was going natural.

Transitioning was easy,lack of patience, is what led me to an early BC. I first started thinking that I would do it for 2 years. It then changed to 18 months then to 1 year then to 10 months. Well as you can see I had trouble making up my mind. So after joining Curlynikki, it gave me confidence to do an early BC.

I am now fully natural after 7 months of transitioning and loving it. Never thought I would feel good about the way I look but now for some reason I get up every morning and look in the mirror and think to myself "Dang I looked good today and my hair is fly!!!"

CONGRATULATIONS on the BC!!!! I can definitely relate to your story! I never thought twice about my hair and it still amazes me that I can wake up every day excited about my hair!!!

Thank you very much ladies. Ok I have a story. My mom's best friend (a white woman) with really long hip length hair. I call her My Little Pony because she always wants me to brush her hair. In fact I have been playing in her hair since I was old enough to hold a brush. I even made a song. It goes like this "My little pony is named Jamie!!" It only works if you can think of the my little pony song from the commercial.

So I think it's funny that I have been interested in other people's hair. Must be fate. LOL

so this is a pic of my first twistout. I cant wait until my twist get long enough to not sit so awkward on my head. I untwisted this morning and at first i wasnt sure how i would like it. but i put a headband on and it was perfect.
