Peppermint Oil
Hey! Hey!....So I'm thinking about trying peppermint oil for growth since I have alopecia. Has anyone used peppermint oil before? What other essential oils did you mix it with (it says you should never apply peppermint oil alone to the scalp). Do you see any results from the usage?
Re: Peppermint Oil
I have used almost a whole container. It lasts for a while. I mixed mine with olive oil and added it to my deep conditioner. I didn't notice any difference with using it.
Re: Peppermint Oil
I have peppermint oil in my rotation. Usually add a few drops to my condish during the summer mths. It gives the most incredible tingling/cooling scalp sensation ever (esp if using extra drops). I also like to mix it w/rosemary EO for scalp messages. Never noticed any growth but it feels good on the scalp!

I add a few drops along with tea tree oil to my hair spritz or sealants like EVOO and unrefined shea butter. I suffer with a dry itchy scalp and this worked wonders when I wore weaves. Definitely add the mint oil to a carrier oil or natural butter.

Re: Peppermint Oil
I used it mixed with almond oil when my scalp used to itch like crazy. I can't vouch for its growth stimulating properties since I didn't use it that often or focus on the growth aspect.
Re: Peppermint Oil
It makes my scalp itch but it is a good itch, lol

Re: Peppermint Oil
I tried it in a spray mix and didn't like it. But on of my conditioners has it in it and it feels great! Maybe I just didn't mix it right when I used it myself

Re: Peppermint Oil
peppermint is a great way to stimulate circulation because it is a vasodilator. u could use the peppermint condish from whole food brands, as u will def feel it working, ingredients are mostly natural (for what i can remember...the bottle is not in front of me) and is madddd cheap

Re: Peppermint Oil
I haven't used mine yet but I have it along with tea tree oil that I got because it's supposed to help with itching (the tea tree oil is the BUSINESS so far!) I think I heard somewhere rosemary oil is supposed to be good for growth but I also heard not to use it if you're pregnant or have blood pressure problems.
I have heard some people say castor oil helps with growth. If you use an oil, definatly use a carrier oil as well (EVOO, JoJoba, Sweet Almond Oil, etc) and remember one or two drops goes a LONG way!
