@everyone....I don't know mine either,,,I guess you have to look at the texture on the site I provided the link for above that closely resembles your hair.

Re: Your Hair Type?
The thing with my hair is that it can closely resemble types 3-4 depending on my routine. I have gone through a lot of trial and error trying to determine what works on my hair. Usually when someone says "I am type __ and this works great on my hair" its hit and miss for me.

Lol! IDK mine either! I just BC'd yesterday & the stylist put coils in it (cuz i seemed worried). She pulled my scalp so tightly my hair looks like a 1. lol!! ...until the water hits it. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I'll find out when I wash this out!

Re: Your Hair Type?
This thing really is confusing. But I think we all have around 3 different textures in our hair.
Re: Your Hair Type?
Funny, i'm curious to see what my hair type is but I just never really understood it.

Re: Your Hair Type?
My hair is 3 with 1 in the back. But where in the three my hair falls changes like the wind blows, for the most part though I'm b in front and c @ the crown. My son is the same way. I think it's kind of cute!
Re: Your Hair Type?
I see that the description for type 3 hair says that is has an "S" shape. But if you look at type 2 hair which is the wavy one, it also looks like "S" shape. So, Im a little confused.
HELP!

Re: Your Hair Type?
3 is a tighter curl where as 2 is more like a wave. Think of it as 1 straight 3 very curly; 2 is what would be in the middle or as what people sometimes say 2 is what would happen in 1 & 3 "had a baby" lol.Sunshine6268 wrote:I see that the description for type 3 hair says that is has an "S" shape. Re: Your Hair Type?
I have a little bit this and a little bit of that. If I had to guess, I think I range from 3c to 4b. LOL! I am prone to frizz more in the crown. At the nape in the middle, it's fine like baby hair and doesnt really grow in that spot. I have fine, medium and thick strands of hair. I love it in all its craziness.
In my opinion, typing doesnt determine anything. You still have to try products and see what works for you.

Re: Your Hair Type?
I disagree. It does have a cosmetology basis. The more you learn about hair the more you learn that the numbers tend to have their own tendencies as far as porosity and oiliness ect., the letters on the other hand refer more to the look of the hair.
Re: Your Hair Type?
Thanks LilMsPuddles. You explained the 1 & 3 "had a baby" really well. LOL

Re: Your Hair Type?
I totally agree with tiashauntee, because no matter what "type" hair this or any other hair caterigizing (we really need spell check on here!) thingy says you have, you still have to find products, regimines, moisturizers, conditioners, etc that work for YOU. Although I'm still transitioning, I have like 3 or 4 different curl patterns all over my head....and I LOVE them all!!! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Re: Your Hair Type?
I'm pretty sure I'm 3a-3c and sometimes 2c on top depending on the day! More important than finding out my hair type I really just need a curly hair fairy to tell me the perfect products to use!
