How often is too often, when co-washing??
Right now, I co-wash every Sunday, deep condition just about every Sunday as well and shampoo like once a month?

I've heard of people co washing as much as 3-4 times a week. In my opinion, your hair will let you know if you are co washing too often.

Because it is winter, I only co wash once a week. During the warmer months, 2-3 times a week. I always deep condition once a week. I also shampoo once a month or as needed.

It really depends on your hair but that sounds about how most ppl do. Just try to pay attention to your hair and if it works then it don't need fixing HTH [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I'd co-wash every day if I had the time to do it as my hair thrives. However, I don't so I now do 1 DC and 1 co-wash each week. I have a spray mix with conditioner, glycerin, aloe vera juice and water that I spray on night and morning in between.

Yes, you can buy it at the supermarket or a chemist either in the food or the medical/hygiene products section. It's quite cheap too. It's one of the main ingredients of hair products such as S Curl and Care Free Curl Gold.

I co-wash once a week but I shower without a cap almost everyday. Once I'm out of the shower, I towel shake once or twice and spritz with a combo of water, hello hydration conditioner, evoo and coconut oil (most of it tends to be coconut oil). Then it's pretty great.

I used to cowash every day, and my hair flourished. The only reason I don't do it now is because I got too lazy!

I used to wash or co-wash every day, especially after my big chop. My hair loved the moisture and grew like a weed. I do it less now because it's cold and I'm trying to avoid getting sick. But in the summer, I'll probably co-wash and then go most of the time unless my hair hates it. Trust your hair- it knows what it likes!

I do it everyday. So I think you mainly have to focus on how your hair reacts to it all and then go from there. Your hair will tell the story.

My best friends swears I cowash my hair too much. She says I should only cowash it every 2 weeks No

Longest I've ever gone without cowashing my hair is 5 maybe 6 days, and I will never do that again. Like the ladies mentions, do it as you feel needed/

Thank you ladies SO much for the advice and tips!
I'll most certainly be 'listening' to my hair... and I'm really tempted to try the glycerin tip* Wink

Thanks again!! Surprised

So there're two kinds??
What's the other kind and why is vegetable the better one?
