How many times have you BC'ed

I was just wondering if anyone else has chopped off their hair to a twa due to boredom or damage. My first BC was in 1996. I had bad damage from perms that I put in myself (lawd have mercy). I had split ends so bad that they split all the way up the hair shaft to the scalp. So I had to chop it off to about 1/4 inch. Then I joined the military in 1997 and then chopped it off again (it was only shoulder length) because I did not know if I would have time for styling during basic training. I never permed after that but I flat ironed the dickens out of my hair and along comes heat damage. I chopped it off again in 2007 due to heat damage. I had splits in the middle of the hair shaft and "bubbles" in the hair shaft. That heat damaged hair acted like scab hair. S0 here I am, 3 big chops later! My hair is currently BSL stretched. I am getting that itch to cut it. I love the growing journey!

lol....The first time was July 09...then twice in August! I didn't get the perm out the first time and then the 3rd time I did a BIG TRIM....after that I stopped or else I would never see growth....!

ckf, that cut loook GOOD!! im actually gettin bored w/my twa (@2 1/2 inches now) and i want to shape it or somethin but im curious to just let it grow! i do miss my amber rose cut so im sure it'll happen AGAIN soon!

I knew that I was not the only scissor happy person on the board. I love to cute my hair. Once I start, I cannot stop! And yes, KCF, your TWA is smokin'!

My 1st... was July 2009......then again in Dec....i wasnt focused on properly taking care of my natural hair..so i breakage.....But now i'm sooo ready..

Great question; I'm quite curious about this. I've BC'd twice but the second time was because I got upset with my hair and relaxed. I hated it so much and I haven't looked back.

I was scissor happy when relaxed, but I haven't been quite as bad natural--I keep cutting it to collar-bone length (stretched), but no more BCs.

Twice here, first time in Oct 2004, took a pair of scissors to my hair in the middle of the night and lasted until graduation wk July 2005 when I caved in to pressure and frustration. I BC'd twice..the first time in may 08 when i decided to go natural and jan 010 due to heat damage

I do not know why it never occured to me that flat ironing once every two weeks would cause that much damage. My hair does not like heat. My hair and scalp was screaming at me all those years with signs of chemical damage (burns, dandruff, dry hair, split ends that had split ends). I am just now listening to what it has to say and my hair and scalp has never felt better!

My first BC was June 09. I might have had a half inch of hair maybe more like a third. I cut again in October of 09 just cause and I am itching to cut again...

My first BC was July 07 and I have had 2 since........mostly out of boredem.

2 and a half. No more!

Twice for me cut loc's in 2005 just from being lazy and not wanting to twist after washing so I thought to cut them short didn't like it so kept right on cutting and then again in Oct of 09 my hair was already short so I transitioned for like 12 wks and cut the permed ends off.
