A BAD HAIR MONTH!!!! HELP!
Hi all! I am so frustrated with my hair right now!! I BC'd in June of 09 with hardly any transition. I LOVED my hair at first but NOW I have dry winter hair. During the summer my hair stayed soft and manageable. It was so short that it always looked great. Now that it has grown, which I'm grateful for, I am in an inbetween stage in length that I find challenging. No matter what I put on my hair, it feels dry. I have tried castor oil, virgin coconut oil, CD's hair milk, Giovanni Direct Leave In. It all seems to sit ON my hair. The only time I like the way my hair feels this past month has been right after a cowash. I only cowash with Giovanni or Suave Creamy Coconut and have stopped shampooing all together until the weather warms some. Not to mention I have like 4 textures on my head. The right side and front is springy curls (3c,4a). The left side is tight and coily (4b) and let's not talk about the crown (??). If it was a little longer I could do an updo, or a puff to protect my hair from the cold. I am SOOOOO frustrated and dont know what to do? Any ideas???? I AM NOT FEELING MY INNER DIVA. Re: A BAD HAIR MONTH!!!! HELP!
Hi, I am sorry you are not enjoying your hair right now. You are 2mths older than I am as I bc'd in Aug 09. Have you tried two strand twist or braidouts? What about flat twist or roller sets? Also for the moisture have you tried honey? I have to find the recipe I used when I had the issue of dryness. Also check the butter n bars thread..you will find a wealth of hair lengths, types, styles, issues and successes. Don't give up you will find your inner diva again.
I love the avatar btw!!

Thank u swetdrk1! I will check out the butter n bars thread. I also researched online and found a couple of honey rinse recipes. I will try it and report the results. I don't know if my hair is long enough for two strand twists but I'll give it a shot! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Re: A BAD HAIR MONTH!!!! HELP!
You could try flat two strand twists. How often do you DC? Although I don't DT like I should I always prepoo and baggy before a cowash. Another suggestion would be to try a cassia treatment. It has the same conditioning treatment as henna without the red tint. Check this site for more info: www.hennaforhair.com. I did my first treatment a month ago and was very impressed with the results. It can be messy so use gloves and an old t-shirt for this process.

Re: A BAD HAIR MONTH!!!! HELP!
Thanks HAMPTONSFNST! I did some soul searching and realized it was a REALLY bad idea to do product experiments in the winter. I went back to my old routine. Last night I did a wash and deep condition with baggy, a hot oil treatment with CD Lisa's Hair Elixer and a honey rinse. I woke up with a new head of hair! My inner diva is starting to revive!!!
I was really interested in trying the henna but didn't want the red color. I may try the cassia this weekend. I'm going to the local Indian grocery store and will post the results!
