Wedding Hair??

Hi! I just got engaged on New Year's Eve, and I'm just wondering what I should do with my hair. I want to look elegant. Any ideas? I thought there was a post about this already but now I can't find it. If you know where to find it, please direct me!

Seriously...I had to find my dress before the vision came 2gether. Because ur hair will be based on the type of dress & veil u choose. Long curls & a super long veil wont work b/c it'll take away from the dress.
The venue will also determine it....u may love an Uber Formal 'do but then decide to have a garden wedding in a chiffon flowy dress....

Hi Tia, I'm Tia, LOL

I got married 08/08/08 and the hardest thing to figure out was my hair. I played around with a few trips to the salon (not good ones) and then ended up letting DH pick the style. We got married on the anniversary of the engagement. It just happened to fall on 08/08/08....I am so happy I did a Fri wedding, it was great getting it over with and still having an entire weekend.

Originally I wanted to go with the date we became official which was 1/17/2005.....but I HATE cold weather and wanted an outdoor wedding. So one yr from the engagement (8/8/07) it was. Easy. LOL

My wedding anniversary date is no where near any of yours but I just wanted to share mine too...LOL! ~6/18/05~

My wedding was also 08/08/08!!! We actually eloped, having decided that we would rather spend the money on a house. Unfortunately...our families insisted that we have a church wedding...who needs a house anyways, right?!? So we did the big fat greek wedding the following year on 6/7/09. Regarding the hair situation I also had a very hard time deciding what to do. I knew for sure that I wanted to proudly sport my natural tresses because my hubbie loves my fro and there was a chance that I might lose my hair post-radiation that following August. For some time my mother tried to convince me to straigthen it but I just ignored her. She actually apologized after the wedding...I don't think she realized at the time how much it meant to me to wear my hair natural for my big day. I poured over endless magazines and blogs looking for ideas. I agree that doing a couple of test runs at the salon is a great idea. That's what I did and then I realized I could style it myself. My hair dresser just set my hair with different size perm rods (I have a combo of 3b/c and 4a/b hair) the day before and the morning of I just kept separating each curl til I got the volume I wanted. I wore a veil for the ceremony but switched it out for a cute flower for the reception. I even used Curls Gel-les'c on my edges which held up really well in the Fl heat and humidity.

Thanks guys!!! Both of you (along with some of the other awesome ladies on here of course) have been such an inspiration for me. I've been natural for 4+ yrs but never really knew how to care for my hair til recently.
