I have a wig. Maybe I can just hold that down and practice some. We'll see!
You know I love that idea, lol. I believe that we all should have at least one good "girl" (aka wig) on hand!!! In my case, one just wouldn't do!

@Reese- The funny thing is that I have NEVER worn that wig. I bought it but could never put it on and wear it out. I felt that I looked funny.
Re: Pinkrage
Day 5 hair is alright. Last night I just put a bonnet on. I didn't pin curl, pineapple or braid ANYTHING. I clipped the top part of my hair up in the back and kept it moving this morning. It looks better than the ponytail I was contemplating rocking.
I am trying to decide what hairstyle I will try this weekend. Hopefully I can find someone to braid or twist my hair so that I can be free for a couple of weeks.

If I was closer I would hook you up.....but that 3 hr drive is a bit much. I can't even stand doing it for holidays, LOL

Re: Pinkrage
@Pinkrage, your hair is beautiful on your avatar? Is that a flat iron? Did you go to your beautician?

Re: Pinkrage
@Veela- Thanks! No, I did not go to my beautician for that hairstyle. I blowdryed it and used the flatirons to put the spirals in.
Re: Pinkrage
oh Lord, I hate the thought of trying to flat iron my own hair. It's so much hair all wild and thick... Maybe one day when I have the patience. your's is really cute!

Re: Pinkrage
Well, I washed my hair on Saturday and put it in a bun for the week. My hubby asked me why I was walking around with a knot in the back of my head !
The bun was hurting my neck when I was lying on my back so I had to move it up today. Now it doesn't bump my head rest in the car or interfere with me lounging on my back . I am in the process of re-working the bun part so that it looks fuller and not like a knot, LOL !

Well, last night I tried the sock bun on my hair. Now that I have braces and the fact that my bun was up high...I looked too young. I felt like I should have been going to a dance recital.
SO, I decided to put my phony pony in. YEAH, a protective style I completely forgot about !! My hair is all wrapped up under the pony, no manipulation for the week. It's great. I do need to go pick up another pony tail to match the color I have now but other than that...I think I have found a winner .

Well I am still rocking my phony pony and LOVING being care free. I do need to find a stronger/better holding gel. I put a lot of coconut oil on my hair prior to adding the gel. I have tried both my aloe vera gel and Long Aid Activator Gel. Neither gels are giving me the hold I need.
Re: Pinkrage
I am still sporting my ponytail today. I have to wash it tonight and decide what I am going to do with my hair. I leave for DC for the weekend tomorrow. I was thinking about stretching it and doing big bantu knot outs on dry hair.
I don't know if tonight is the night to try something new. I will be pressed in the morning to pack and do other things prior to leaving.

LOL~ i could see my BF saying something goofy like that!
-->what method are you going to use 2 stretch your hair?
Re: Pinkrage
GURLL, don't get me to lying...I don't know, LOL! I will either band it, ponytail (like CN) or hold it with my hands while blowing cool air on it.
Re: Pinkrage
It may be the coconut oil. Try the gel without the coconut oil underneath. Do you have a moisturizer you can use? So it would be leave in (optional), moisturizer, gel then oil. You can also try mixing a moisturizer and oil in the gel. SheeTacular_Napps has a mix she is going to or has used for a curly custard on her BnB Challenge.Pinkrage wrote:Well I am still rocking my phony pony and LOVING being care free. Re: Pinkrage
Last night, I shampooed, co-washed and conditioned my hair. My hair was feeling soft after rinsing Giovanni 50:50 out (BTW-a few more uses and this product is going to be a HG for me ). I planned on stretching my hair with the dryer. Therefore, I used for the first time John Freida (heat protectant) and Jane Carter's leave in.
I am not sure which product did what but my hair became VERY hard. It was HORRIBLE. I applied so much EVOO to try to soften it up but it didn't work. I have used JC before and if I remember correctly it didn't do much for me then which is why I never went back to it. I am not sure if it's the application of it or what. I am use to creamy conditioners and not spray in's. I stretched my hair on cool so maybe the blowdryer wasn't hot enough for the heat protectant, IDK.
I washed my hair again this morning and put back in my ponytail.

Re: Pinkrage
What's in the John Freida heat protectant? I know there must be silicones in it. This may be the item causing the hardness or a combination of the two. I am sorry this happened. I hope you take note so it doesn't happen in the future. Thank goodness for ponytails.Pinkrage wrote:Last night, I shampooed, co-washed and conditioned my hair.
