Scalp is so darn dry!!! Empty Scalp is so darn dry!!!

Post by NaturalNixon 21st December 2009, 1:28 am

Ladies I need some help. I can co-wash, wash with shampoo, deep condition, and anything else under the sun and my scalp is still dry and itchy. I hate it because after a week I def have to wash out a style. What do you suggest I try??

I have read some good things about cleaning the scalp with baking soda and ACV rinses. Do anyone have any receipes for either one of those? Should I NOT do either one? I am willing to try whatever.

@NaturalNixon: I also have a dry, itchy scalp and I add tea tree and peppermint oils to my conditioners and stylers. You may also want to prepoo or baggy before you wash with carrier oils like EVOO, EVCO or any other natural oils you like and seal with your conditioner. I do this each time I'm too lazy to DC.

The only time I do baking or ACV rinses is for clarification purposes and that's about once a month. I add about 2TBSP of baking soda to 1c of water.

I made a mix of aloe vera gel, neem oil, jojoba oil, tea tree EO and lavender EO. I applied it directly to my scalp. The relief was nearly immediate.

NOTE: Neem oil smells to high heaven. This is why I added the lavender.

It was made in a small 4 ounce spray bottle. Three fourths of aloe Vera gel, 1/2 oz of neem oil and five to six drops of the lavender and tea tree essential oils.
