Will my curl pattern ever return!

Good Evening curlfriends,

I flat ironed a section of my hair just to see the true length. After seeing my growth I washed and conditioned my hair as I normally do. OMG! Now I have a section of my hair that will not curl back up. It is in the front of my head and is very obvious because it is so straight. Is there anything I can do to make it curl back up.

Did you use a heat protectant? How many times have you washed it?

Yes, I used a protectant. I have washed it well over 10 times.

Sounds like heat damage

Try doing a protein treatment. If that doesn't work, then it is indeed heat damage.

How hot was the flat iron?
When straightening (even for length checks), I stretch my hair either with a roller-set or banding - then flat iron on med-low only. That will decrease the chances of heat damage.

I agree. Try the protien treatment. What did you wash with? I used alot of heat on the front section of my hair ( on high with no protectant) lol. (Idk why. Im done with heat though!) and i was afraid I had heat damage but I washed it with tea tree shampoo and it perked right up! Curlier than ever! Maybe you should try it?

I use kinky curly shampoo, as well as Ms. Jessie. Im going to try the protein treatment. D you guys reccomend one?
