Confused with BC...

Hi. Everyday I wake up wanting to do my BC and every night i go to sleep with the same hair. I had waist length hair that I cut to shoulder level. After that I cut it to my ear. I really want to just go all the way and get rid of the remaining relaxed ends. When i wash my hair, i can clearly see my new growth, but it's not as long around my edges (is this normal?) I don't want to cut my hair uneven, so should I just cut my hair to the longest part of my new growth (almost 4in) or to my edges (about 2in). Please help.

I think your hair grows slower around your edges (which is perfectly normal). I'd cut it unevenly or to 4inches, just because cutting it all down to 2inches seems pointless to me. The other parts of your head will keep growing faster and you'd have to keep trimming the match the much slower growth rate of your edges. I'd only cut the relaxed ends off while oiling my scalp and seeing what I can do to hurry the edges along.

When i BC'd my edges were shorter because of breakage. my hair is also more tightly curled in my edges, so the shrinkage is like 4x more than the rest of my hair. regardless, i didn't cut it "evenly" and it just ended up looking like "baby hairs" on my edges i say cut it unevenly according to length in the beginning. Then if you don't like how it looks, you can always even it up later...
