What I'd Like to See...
Hi All!
Even though I got my last perm in January 2007, I just decided to do the BC a couple of weeks ago -- the night before my birthday. Now I'm trying to understand this short hair of mine. (4a/b) More TWA stuff would be good for me. Plus, I agree with the young lady who wanted more info on how to deal with your hair after you've done the BC. Thanks!

I think more teen/tween stuf would be nice, since I'm 13 Plus, so many people do think they need a perm to make their hair nice even though they don't. More transitioning stuff would be nice too, since my sister wants to natural now (:

ooooh, lets see: some pro's n cons on coloring natural hair; accessories to add flair to hair; comparing and seeing the difference in product use of different textures and pj anonymous intervention sessions!

Ideas for features
I would like to read more features on fashion ideas that compliment natural hair styles. Its obvious that one already stands out who wears their hair natural . However these people have a distinct fashion sense that evolves along with their creative hairstyles. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

So I have to say I LOVE this site. I even got my my mom(she just shaved her hair off!!) and younger sister started on the natural journey. What would I like to see on CN.com?
1. more styles tutorials for short/ medium length hair for special occasions and work.
2. more tips for maintaining moisture during the winter
3. more info about ingredients

HEY Everyone!!! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
I'm new here and CurlyNikki already does such a wonderful job of providing tons of info!!! This may seem really silly, but I would love to see more in depth basics. From how people shampoo (somehow I feel like i tangle my hair more) to exactly how people detangle (can I say TONS of hair in my comb...shower floor...drain...not a good look [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ) ,prep hair before wash after a week of not combing (what are people doing about all that shed hair?), and styling. Videos would be great too. Also when styles are posted, pictures of the hair in its natural state with no product would be nice too... A Fix-It kind of page could be helpful too. Common hair issues (breakage, dryness, brittle ends, etc could be gone over and various remedies to combat the problems given. Thanks!!!!

Re: Curl Junkie Giveaway-- CLOSED
I would like to see more topics catered to hair in the various seasons...like
1. What ingredients to avoid and use in the winter
2. Ways to protect hair in the winter
3. How to prepare for the warmer weather ahead
4. Best ways to treat the hair in the summer
And also more style options/tutorials for ladies rocking the TWA
stuff like that because I am a new natural and am still trying to figure out what to do with my hair in this cold Baltimore weather.

Curl Junky Giveaway
Hi Nikki,
I just love your hair and I'm truly thankful for the work you do here and at NaturallyCurly.com. I've been transitioning for nearly 15 months and just came across the Henna craze. I don't want to color my hair and have considered Cassia yet would like a bit more info about Ayurvedic powders. As NIALEAN mentioned perhaps a Ayurvedic expert can highlight one of these powders including their use, how to properly use them, and explain their natural properties. I think this could be done once a month or perhaps once a week if available. There is so much info about Henna, but what about Cassia, Neem, Amla, etc? Happy Holidays.
Thanks in advance [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Re: Curl Junkie Giveaway-- CLOSED
I haven't read through the others so I'm not sure if these are already mentioned but I'd like to see:
1) More work friendly hairstyles and how to salvage a bad hair day
2) A resident mixtress. I'm starting to experiment with mixing my own hair and skin stuff with natural ingredients so it would be nice to have someone showing the results of their experiments and recommendations
3) The dermatology lady talk about the oil cleansing method
4) Dealing with hair loss (for both medical and non-medical reasons)

Re: Curl Junkie Giveaway-- CLOSED
I remember the post from the teacher who encountered some students whose hair had been chopped off by their dad and how the CN community got together and donated some products to those little girls. I also posted something before about donating chopped hair to orgs that make hair pieces for the ill. I would love to see a CN Community gives back portion/topic etc. I'm sure there are many shelters or group homes that would greatly appreciate donations.
My other idea is a "curly can too" segment....where we post pix of different hairstyles on straight hair adapted/tried on curly hair.
hope my ideas arent too late lol

I am also interested in learning more about Ayurvedic (sp) powders and other Indian powders/products people use.
Re: Curl Junkie Giveaway-- CLOSED
I am interested to talk with curlies who live in other countries. I will be moving next summer to Germany. I would like to know who they maintain their hair and what products they use.

Could I co-sign Freestyles, too?? I'm getting past shoulder length and it is SOOO hard to manage. There's nothing like trying to braid that one spot in the middle of the back of your head once it gets to a certain length! It just keeps going, and going, and going... LOL
And could there be an occasional post for naturals with sensitive (and dry!) scalps? I already have a couple of products that I can apply straight to my scalp to help retain moisture, but with winter here it looks like I'm gonna need something new! Nothing much is working for longer than a day so far...

I would like to see more on organic/natural products. I'm a vegetarian and I only buy natural/organic products. A lot of the product faves happen to be conventional products. I love the posts on henna and making homemade conditioners but there are some really good organic products out there that I love besides KCCC and Giovanni. Also I would love a thread on those who are living a fully natural lifestyle like me.

I would love to see more about style options for those of us with twa's who are in the in between stages.
Style tutorials are always welcomed (I can always bookmark and come back when I have my length).
And maybe more about regimens... I know everyone is different but sometimes it can get overwhelming in this sea of information.
Thanks!

Re: Curl Junkie Giveaway (Wishes do come true...)
As I travel down the yellow brick road of follow this, do that, try me, cut that... I find that reading about the success of other's can be, seems to be, IS.. overwhelming at times. No one talks about the real stuggles, or the small things that they experienced when trying a "Twist out" or how horrible it feels to sleep with cold wave rods in your hair every night to achieve the one look you've convinced yourself is perfect... for now that is [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
As a newbie to this wonderful world of fro's, braids, twist and shouts... I would like to see more decisions or a forum dedicated soley for those who are walking this road as I type and find out each day just by logging in, that they aren't the only ones trying to rub out the elastic print from their foreheads (left by the bonnet) while driving to work in the morning.
Kind regards,
Newbie2Natural
