Thinking about taking Biotin???
Thinking about taking Biotin. I've read some of the posts on it. I took heed and also went and purchased the B-Complex to balance it out. I initially purchased the 5000 on but after reading about all the "other" hair growth and acne, i went to walmart and got the 1000. I did not take it this morning, but i brought it to work with me. Im kinda apprehensive. Any other input would be great.

Honestly, I would speak with my physician before taking supplements in addition to a regular multi-vitamin.

I took Biotin for a while and I did notice increased hair growth and thickness. My hair was thriving on it, but when I slacked off on drinking water, I started to break out. If you are going to take Biotin you have to drink a lot of water daily.

Re: Thinking about taking Biotin???
I took Biotin a few years back, and it did wonders for my hair. However it ruined my face. The dose I took was probably way too high for me. If I were to try Biotin again it would be 300 mcg or lower. Their are tons of ppl who take Biotin, and suffer no side affects.
Re: Thinking about taking Biotin???
I have been taking 5000 mcg for the past 3 years and I can honestly say that I have noticed thickness in my hair, eyelashes and brows. I don't have any acne but I have increased my shaving/waxing. A good arch would last a week, now only 3 days.

Thanks for the reply ladies. I think i am going to pass on the Biotin. I dont know if it is worth the risks. My hair will just do what it do on it own.

Re: Thinking about taking Biotin???
I take 2 Biotin tablets (can't remember the dosage) every night and haven't noticed any change in my skin and very little to my hair. My hair has always been uber thick and still is.
However, I do notice the difference in my nails when I slack off for a while...they chip and peel like crazy! For the purpose of hair growth thickness alone, I wouldn't recommend but if you have problem nails, like me, I'd suggest trying a small dosage to see if it makes any difference.

i been taking biotin somewhat on a consistent basis for a few months now even though i'm still transitioning i have notice a thickness in my hair and my nails are longer than usual because usually they break i take 5000 in the beginning i got 1 pimple right before that time of the month now i'm great my skin isn't prone to acne though i would try a small dosage than see the results if you break out once you stop the pimples will go away
