?? FOR ALL QHEMET USERS
Has anyone used the QHEMET Honeybush Tea Gel?
If so, what's your opinion of the product?
How does it smell/feel/hold?
Is it sticky/gummy?
TIA

Re: ?? FOR ALL QHEMET USERS
The Honeybrush tea gel has a really soft hold. It doesn't give you the hold like ecostyler gel would. It has a citrus smell sorta of like lemons and its not sticky or gummy. I didn't repurchase because I no longer really use gels. If you're doing wash n go's and you wanted it for definition this wouldn't be the gel because it doesn't have enough hold.
Re: ?? FOR ALL QHEMET USERS
I agree. The Honeybush Tea is a really soft hold. It is not gummy or sticky, but it is a little loose/runny compared to other gels (like Ecostyler). I used it for braidouts and got pretty good definition the first day, but after the second use it caused terrible frizz in some sections of my hair with no definition. It is not something I would purchase again.

Re: ?? FOR ALL QHEMET USERS
Thanks Sweet Tee, I just had the same question about the honeybush tea gel. I'm looking for a good gel or curl cream that will give me soft hold and controls frizz. Has anyone had success using this gel for wash and goes? And what leave-in/moisturizer has worked well with it?

Re: ?? FOR ALL QHEMET USERS
Thanx Ladies!
I want to order this because I love the fact that Qhem uses
great ingreds,
but I am actually happy with the curl 'activator' I use now
with exception that it is a bit gummy when I first apply it.
But, once I apply my Qhemet BRBC + the FX Curl activator after poo'ing,
I don't have to apply any more product for the rest of the week.
I just wanted to be sure I was perceiving this gel
in the same way as the one I am using now.
Thanx again!!!

I have not had success using this gel for wash and go's. It does not provide enough hold, as mentioned previously, nor does it make my curls pop. I prefer a thicker gel that can hold my curls without making it crunchy. The Honeybush Tea Gel does work with the other Qhemet products. When my hair was longer I used it, along with either the Amla & Olive Heavy Cream or Burdock Root Butter Cream, for twists. The gel worked but again didn't provide good hold. My hair ended up frizzy the next day or so. Hope that helps.

The gel maybe but the creams/moisturizers are the bomb.
Have you tried Kinky Curly Curling Custard? Also, I've had great success with Herbal Essence Set Me Up Gel.

Re: ?? FOR ALL QHEMET USERS
Thanks Dva.
I already have the alma olive heavy cream and love it as my leave in/moisturizer. Now I'm experimenting with different stylers to see what will work with it. I think I'm more concerned with frizz control than hold. I tried kccc in the fall and didn't really like it so much. I also don't like the crunchy feel I keep getting from gels so my search continues. I might just get a sample of the honeybush gel to try when I order my other products because I'm trying to stick with natural ingredients if possible.

Re: ?? FOR ALL QHEMET USERS
I would suggest the KeraCare twist and curl cream. Curly Nikki gave it positive reviews late last year and I have been using it lately myself with good results and no frizz. I will be doing a review on it soon!
Re: ?? FOR ALL QHEMET USERS
I have used AOHC with eco gels. It provided a little extra hold without being crunchy.
I LOVE the Heavy Cream and the Burdock Root Cream. The gel did not provide any hold, but I did get some curl definition from it. I also got samples of Cocoa Detangling Ghee and Honey Hydrating Balm, but I am not sure how to use them-any suggestions?
@ PS-where did you purchase the Keracare Cream?

I have not tried KCCC or Herbal Essence because I am so in love
with the Burdock Root Butter Cream from Qhemet,
I wanted to try some other products from her line.
I am using FX Curls UP, which I am very happy with (right now).

Re: ?? FOR ALL QHEMET USERS
Thanks BBD! Do you use it as a sealant or to add shine when you take down your twists? I did use it when I straightened my hair to wrap it up at night. It worked well for that.

UPDATE**UPDATE**UPDATE
Moringa Tree Conditioning Ghee-
NICE!
I apply @ squirts to sections of hair before I finger coil before bed.
Nice added layer of moisture.

Honeybush Gel-
NICE!
I apply in the AM to freshen after I uncoil.
It does not operate like a regular gel.
It gives a bit of curl def, a bit of shine, a bit of hold.
Also adds a layer of moisture.
