Now aint that a @!$%#...
I have been natural for 5 1/2 months. I have tried at least 10 different product lines, numerous techniques and treatments and spent more time and money on my hair than I am willing to admit. Seriously. It's a shame. All in an effort to find what my hair loves. Well I recently picked up Suave Naturals shampoo ( I don't mind sulfates) and condish.$2.80 each. My hair LOVED it. The shampoo was SO slippery and didn't dry me out at all and the condish ( used as a rinsing condish) was very moisturizing and a great detangler. I got the pomegranate splash scent (yummy!) I followed up with HEHH as a leave-in and sealed with olive oil. My hair came out moisturized and defined. Even my 2nd day hair. All for the grand total of about $12 for all those products. Hundreds of dollars all to find that every product I need is 12 bucks. Go figure. Just goes to show...don't sleep on the cheap stuff. My hair is happy. Mission complete.

LMAO!!! Loev the title of this entry!!!! That is great!!! I have some V05 but I don't use it!!! Maybe I should give it a go this week when I wash!! LOL
Re: Now aint that a @!$%#...
Yeah, That's what I found out too. I remember my hairdresser warning me against using Suave, V05, HEHH lines because supposedly they were bad for 'our' hair. But my hair loves them and I think salons don't want people to know there is an inexpensive option that do a great job, too. They (salons, hairdressers) want people to think you have spend $$$$ on your hair.
I found another line, Silkience conditioner is very nice. I like the smell, its clean and not heavy. It also has a lot of slip, I use it as detangler and rinsing conditioner. Got it at the Dollar Tree.

Suave Naturals Coconut, VO5 Passion Fruit Smoothie & Giovanni lines are my staple brands. Cheap but worthy.

Re: Now aint that a @!$%#...
Haven't tried Suave, but I've heard good things about it; I've always used Herbal Essence.
But FYI, Suave Professionals (not sure the difference between that line and the naturals line), but it's on sale this week at Target in a two pack for $3 and if you want to get just the shampoo or just the conditioner it's $1.74; some of the Herbal Essence line is on sale at $2.50.
Has anyone tried the Herbal Essence Hydralicious line?

Africanacurly, I have tried the conditioner and m hair loves it. It is very moisturizing, I use it as a co-wash, as a leave in and a deep conditioner.

Re: Now aint that a @!$%#...
Now this is my type of thread, giving props to the inexpensive yet highly effective products. Suave is the business chile and don't I know it. I am convinced that no other conditioner can make my hair feel the way that Suave Professionals Almond & Shea butter does. If there is one better, I'm sure God kept it for himself! LOL! I too love Suave shampoos as well. I've used the Tropical Coconut, Shampoo & Conditioner Plus 2-in-1, Almond & Shea and Rosemary & Mint. All thebomb.com. Oh yeah, I have to shout out my curl boo Aussie Moist too. I just love everything about it. Good stuff!
Re: Now aint that a @!$%#...

Re: Now aint that a @!$%#...

Re: Now aint that a @!$%#...
I love this thread and I think that it is soo true. When I first started transitioning, I was slightly overwhelmed by all of the "great" but expensive products that everyone was using. Most of the time when I would research products I would find that this "expert" would say this wouldn't work and so forth. Now I have learned that I do not have to spend a lot of money for my hair to look great.
As a matter of fact I have some BOGO coupons for either HH or Aussie that I plan on using this week.

I love it!!!! this is so true. I love CD (hated Miss Jessie) but after quiting my full time job to stay at home with my young son I could not justify a $45 spend on shampoo and condish. My hair loves HEHH and Aussie Moist!!!!!

Re: Now aint that a @!$%#...
I like the Suave conditioners (my hair hates hard core sulfates, so no shampoos for me), but I can live without the smells. It would be nice if they made unscented conditioners.
