Hey Ladies,

So I wanted to try Henna for the first time and I have been transitioning for 5 months. I have read that Henna that is Body Art Quality is safer for you if you have relaxed hair. I went to my local indian grocer and the only brand that they have is Karishma Henna. I see that it is herbal but I wanted to double check if that would be OK for my transition hair. I did some research on it but can't tell what hair they were working with.

Appreciate It Smile

I just started using the Karishma and I love it waaay better than Jamila. To me it was more moisturizing. The mix was creamier and smoother.

tpayne, Are you interested in color, conditioning, or both?

There's alot of henna out there. My recommendation is do your research so you will be confident with your purchase decision. There is alot of information available. Personally, I researched for about 4 months (there is a 166 page thread on naturally curly/experiences by bloggers/Youtube, but most importantly I studied:

http://www.hennaforhair.com/
http://www.hennapage.com/henna/what/freebooks/mix.pdf
http://hennablogspot.com/common-mistakes-and-tips-henna-for-hair/

AND received guidance from Khadija of Henna Sooq (where I purchase Rajasthani henna)

The henna was certified and very finely sifted, which made it easy to rinse out.

Yes Dear! I am going to go find a different Asian market to see if I can find some indigo.

@ naturallynola I was interested in condition. I don't mind a tinge of color. I just can't seem to find any info on kinds of henna to use on transitioning hair. other than body art quality but I live in Savannah so their isn't a whole lot of options and I would prefer to get stuff on the ground instead of ordering. Thanks for the info I will check it out.

@ Dreammerchant was your hair 100% natural when you used the karishma?
