DEEP CONDITIONING....
I was thinking about doing deep conditioning treatments every week after my wash. Is that too much or is there such a thing as too much deep conditioning? Probably no but want to get you all's input! Thanks as always!!
Re: DEEP CONDITIONING....
Hey misskris,
If your hair doesn't have a problem with once a week then keep doing what works. Everyone's hair is different and some people can go longer or never deep condition their hair with no problem. I dc once a week and it works for me

Re: DEEP CONDITIONING....
Oh do you? Ok, I will do it this weekend. I just feel like my hair and scalp mainly need the extra moisture. I'm excited cuz I'm also gonna do my hair in those flexirods. It'll be my first time using them so I'm anxious to see how they come out!!!

Re: DEEP CONDITIONING....
Every week is fine, I know many naturals with beautiful hair who do treatments weekly. I do 2 deep conditions and 2 hot oil treatments (20 minutes for each under hooded dryer) monthly. My hair responds better to that regimen.
Re: DEEP CONDITIONING....
I deep condition every time I wash my hair, which is usually once a week. So I say, rock on!

I deep condition once a week, twice a week during the summer.
What product are you going to use?

Re: DEEP CONDITIONING....
Hey FalconTress well i still have some LeKair Cholesterol that I need to finish. I was gonna use that. But now I think I may try the protein tx I just got on another thread about protein treatments. Its an egg/evoo/honey...mix. I like the way it sounds as opposed to the store bought ones. But if I don't do the protein I'll just mix the cholesterol with evoo and honey like I have done before. I like that combo.
Re: DEEP CONDITIONING....
I was planning to do a natural deep condish with avocado and mayo. Do you ladies think it would be okay to add some green tea oil to the mix?

@ CuRlZ, "by the time that 7 days is up im dyin' for a moisture boost and i mean exactly 7!"--I TOTALLY feel you on THAT!!! My scalp is crying right about now!! LOL that's how I know a 2-week stretch without washing is a no go for me. I could do a cowash halfway I guess. But my scalp definitely needs that mositure at LEAST once a week.
@ Over40fab!! Hey! Never heard of green tea oil. I know green tea and tea tree oil, but not that. But whatever it is it probably won't hurt. What is it known for???

Re: DEEP CONDITIONING....
I usually deep condition once a week, but lately it's been once every two weeks. Finals are coming up and I am too stressed and too tired to worry about my hair. Right now its in twists and will stay like that maybe until christmas haha

Re: DEEP CONDITIONING....
Good luck on finals, Nessa, but try not to stress too much!!! you'll do fine.
Re: DEEP CONDITIONING....
@ misskris - thanks for the correction. it is green tree oil. I think I will use it as a hot oil treatment for my scalp and then use the avocado/mayo deep condish afterwards. I really need something that will soften and loosen these tight curls!!!
