I love this time of year
Its the most wonderful time of the year..lol..well. I am 10months postpartum. So for most it should be a sucky time hair wise. But I am on the recovery road from the shedding..The bundle of joy is happy and healthy, and the rest of the family as well. You natural beauties continue to keep it fresh, and my year has been enriched from getting to enjoy this hair journey with such great interesting people Today I celebrate hair and naturality, by naming my hair, JEWEL..My name is Angel and everyone always asks How's heaven? or Aren't you made of jewels, where are your wings?,or something related. But I thought in honor of the crowns we all are delighting in (our hair) for so many different reasons, I would name my hair to honor us all.. JEWEL And not because we need hair to make us royal, but to recognize that God has given crowns to all of us naturally. And He did so because He made us special...So there is my tribute ladies...now on to the journey..lol
I have been trying to run away from the tried and true style for me (the wash n go) and dedicate more time to protective styling. I am not the greatest stylist either..and I am also clueless to regular deep conditioning, but I am trying to improve in these areas..But i celebrate my crown and all of our crowns..cuz we are in it to win it..U feel Me Blessings Naturals
Twists and Twists out..lol..I'm trying

I don't know Jean. I'm too busy having a love affair with the Darcy's. I don't know when I'll get to Donna Marie, plus it has glycerin in it and it's like 2 degrees with the windchilll here. I don't do well with glycerin in the cold.
Re: I love this time of year
Ren, are you twisting? Or doing the wash and go's. Which DB product are you using?

Re: I love this time of year
I am twisting, twisting, twisting. I'm going to update my journal and post some pictures later this week. I think I need a new camera because I'm doing Curly Nikki's picture taking suggestions, but my hair is loving this stuff.
I'm using the Daily Leave-In Condish and the "new" Curl Styling Gel (cream). It's not on her website because it's in the testing phase and she gave it to me with my BF order. They're wonderful alone and wonderful together. I've also used the new Curl Styling Leave-In (it's a heavier twisting cream). I love that too. I have to wash my hair and try them one at a time, but honestly all three have my hair looking the hotness. Great moisture, shine (not sheen), elongated twist, good movement, crazy curl formation. I can't say enough. I've had it in my hair since Thursday and I don't have fuzz. I always have fuzzy roots.

Re: I love this time of year
Jeanlouis has a journal! Yay! Now please tell me how you got those twists to stay uniformed at the scalp without unraveling.
LaToya, the new pic is fire! Where did you get the earrings?
Renny, I second that new Darcy's curl cream gel. It is amazing and the slip is unbelievable. It's a cream and a gel so it kills two birds with one stone for me. I ended up going to Sage and buying 4 more bottles. I think there's one left. I contacted Lysandra and she stated that the new cream gel will be on the site in a few weeks.

Re: I love this time of year
Hey Toya...lol yes that was what I just discovered that I need a heavy butter for twists, it gives the best twist out..and I twist very tightly..My twists if I use a creamier styler will still stay put, but doesnt weigh it down and keep my frizzies in check like my shea mix that I use. What product mirrors that heavy butter that I need?
And a Happy Holidays to you to Shee

Re: I love this time of year
Hey J! I just saw the idol comment! Oh stop it! Your hair is beautiful! When I struggled with twist/twist out I found and fell in love with koils by nature! That is when I learned the impact of a heavy butter for my twists. Also twisting on 90% dry hair helped me too. Because Ms Sasha is the queen of shrinking! Lol!
Oh and Happy Holidays to you and yours!
