Are you using biotin now?? what are the effects

I thought about buying a bottle of the 5000 I think but then I looked at my multi and my B-complex and they both have biotin in it. So would it be too much for me to add the biotin???

Watch out guys! I used a hair, skin and nails vitamin with a healthy dose of biotin in it. It worked wonders for my hair, but also caused stubborn ACNE! It's been about 3 months since I used it and I'm still trying to get rid of the scars.

@coilyRN, the acne is one of the reasons why I stayed away from the Biotin, despite hearing good things about its benefits for hair. I have acne prone skin that I'm currently trying to correct; the last thing I need is to worsen it.

I purchased a conditioner containing Biotin for cowashes, but I haven't used it more than once.

But I've been using Biotin since September 2010 and I've noticed thicker, stronger hair at my roots, more resilient and strong nails, aaaand thicker eyelashes! ;D

I've been using Biotin for a while now (on and off). At first I noticed cystic acne, but it didn't last long, it's only temporary. The pros outweigh the cons, now I barely have any problems with acne at all which I give some credit to Biotin.

For the concerns about acne, I've heard that if you take vitamin B complex in conjunction with the biotin it will help prevent the acne from occurring.
