Dyed my hair once..now what?? Empty Dyed my hair once..now what??

I dyed my hair approx 4 months ago... I didnt want to constantly dye it.. i just wanted a little color... is it bad that i dont keep getting it colored?
I also have had my hair in protective styles and noticed that dyed hair needs more care... how do you care for dyed hair in protective stylings?

keep it moisturized or it will be become brittle and beak off. you have to take extra special care of color treated hair ... DC's help too! I touch up my roots every 3-4 months only - so may 3/4 times a year.

Cool i understand but is it unhealthy that i only colored it once and dont want to color it agian? I only wanted it for my ends
