Extremely Dry Lips..Help
I've always struggled with very chapped lips throughout my life. (I burned them as a child..don't ask lol) Does anyone have any suggestions that would make my lips softer for more than one day? I've used regular stuff like chapstick and Vaseline but I have to do it EVERY night or my lips would look terrible. Any suggestions?

Re: Extremely Dry Lips..Help
Have you tried exfoliating them. Google it I think you can make it with everyday items in your kitchen. I think once you get the dead layer off you can go from there. Also up your water intake that ALWAYS helps
Re: Extremely Dry Lips..Help
I found that exfoliating them helps alot I found a remedy on themoptopmaven.com Here it is
About This Formulation:
Sweet Almond Oil; acts as an emollient to keep your lips soft and smooth all day
Grapeseed Oil; hydrates, and delivers skin loving nutrients to your lips.
Meadowfoam Oil; is choked full of moisturizing essential fatty acids
Vitamin E Oil; smooths, softens and protects lips from harsh environmental elements [free radicals]
Sugar; acts as a natural [and sweet] humectant, drawing the moisturizing properties of the oils into your skin, sugar also gently exfoliates your skin, leaving your lips soft and smooth
YOU WILL NEED:
Sugar
1oz Sterile Container
2 tsp Sweet Almond Oil
2 tsp Grapeseed Oil
2 tsp Meadowfoam Oil
2 tsp Vitamin E Oil
3 Drops Peppermint Essential Oil
DIRECTIONS:
Mix all ingredients together until it forms a thick paste, transfer paste to container. Use nightly during your skin care regimen to gently exfoliate your lips. All you ladies who love your matte lipstick will love how this formulation keeps your lips soft and smooth hours after use.
I hope this helps

Re: Extremely Dry Lips..Help
I use a Mary Kay exfoliating product when lips are really dry.
You may also try using brown sugar and honey. You would just need a little of both. Rub it on your lips then lick or wipe them off with tepid temperature water.
Keep them moisturized throughout the day with a lip care product. I like Carmex. I have heard good things about Rosebud salve (I have seen it in Barnes & Noble at their counter).

You can also use burt bee's lip balm I use it all the time. I also do a lip scrub using ACV face mask mixture. I love how these natural products pull double sometimes triple duty. HTH.

Something you can do right now.
1. Up your water intake. Reduce the sugar intake and watch the sodium.
2. Sugar, honey, and olive oil (or your favorite oil) for a lip scrub.
3. Use your olive oil or a heart smart blended oil. Its a blend of soy, olive, canola and vitamin e oils. You can add a drop of castor oil to it too.
I am a product junky I admit it. But my PJ is about containers too. These two make using your own mixtures on your lips and cuticles easy.
