How do you slick down hair with gel!

Ok, i saw this pretty much amazing style for TWAs and I was wondering how she did it. I have Ecostyler Olive Oil Gel and products needed, but I don't know how to, help please??

I would email her and see what she did to achieve that look. The second pic just looks like she parted in the middle, smoothed down the sides, and put on a headband.

From her description is sounds pretty easy to do. Part on one side and slick down in opposite directions (away from each other).
