Eco Styler Gel
I'm not a real big fan of this gel. Makes my hair too crunchy for my taste. Is there any other good gels out there besides the expensive Deva Chan Arc Angel? I love their gel but its way too expensive.
And can you use aloe vera juice gel alone to hold your curls?

Qhemet Biologics Honeybush Tea gel
Darcy's Botanicals Natural Coils Curling Jelly
Komaza Care Coconut Hair Pudding
Aubrey Organics B-5 gel
Aubrey Organics Mandarin Magic Jelly
Jane Carter Condition & Sculpt
Kinky Curly Curling Custard
Spiral Solutions Firm Hold Styling gel
Spiral Solutions Curl Enhancing Jelly
Oyin Handmade Shine & Define Styling Serum
BellaCurl Gellie
Amaka Creations Flax Dream Hair Cream
Gels are one of the most popular products when it comes to natural hair care. There are literally tons out there; you just have to look and experiment. Aloe vera gel alone might provide you with hold, but from what I've heard, most of the time it doesn't and is best used along with something else. You really just have to test it out and see for yourself.

Re: Eco Styler Gel
Have you tried mixing it with an oil to help with the crunchies?
I have not used THIS particular gel,
but with others that I have used that left my hair crunchy
I added oil (either coconut or veggie) or butters and it took care of it.

Thanks ladies.
Hmmmm @ sweet tee. I will try that next time. Black gel makes my hair look dry. Eco gives great definition but the crunch drives me nuts. I keep hearing about Kinky curly so maybe I'll try it. I love deva chan arc angel but yeesh its expensive. Cant understand why people charge so much for freaking gel!!!

Re: Eco Styler Gel
im with u on the eco gel im starting to get soo sick of it i dont even do my wash and goes anymore because of it. ONE i have to apply way too damn much and TWO it makes my hair supper white until it dries. i dont have the issue if hard hair because i put oil on my hair before or after i use it while its still wet. but i dont like its drying process or the fact that i have to use too much. as for the kinky curly that mess takes too damn long to dry BUT it doesnt make my hair hard so i dont have to use oil... sooo i guess im going to have to try one of those gets @SummerRuby posted up until i get me a defuser lol
Re: Eco Styler Gel
Hey Emartini!! I just literally tried the aloe vera gel, from Walmart, and the curls just pop, and the definition is fierce...WITH NO CRUNCH
I am soooo excited. And I was going to NY for the weekend but will leave tomorrow, so I hope it will look wonderful like this. I washed and used my fav condioner with olive oil. Then I used some Qhemet Biologics Alma and Olive Heavy Cream with the Olive and Honey Hydrating balm (just a little of both for each section) and then the aloe vera gel...Wow!!!!!!!
But alas. If I am smoothing edges I need something better homie.. but for wash and go's...ITs the BUSINESS

Re: Eco Styler Gel
Thank you so much ladies for the feeback. I really don't like the eco styling gel at all. And yes @ neybesa it left a white film on my hair also and I was like urgghhhh once I seen it. I think I'll be giving that gel to one of co workers who is a gel fanatic - I'm sure he'll make better usage of it.
@ Sweet Tee - I think I'm going to try to the aloe vera gel myself probably heading over to TD this afternoon and pick some up. I believe it makes the curls pop especially since its all natural.
@neybesa I want to try the kinky curly gel also. The price is the reason I've been taking my time purchasing it. lol

Re: Eco Styler Gel
i just purchased a huge tub of Eco styler (more so cuz everyone raves about it) and have no idea about application so the last couple of threads have given me lots of good info.
@ Emartini04 KK is now being sold at Whole Foods and Many Targets and they have the smaller container for $17 sounds expensive for gel but a little goes a long way with this stuff especially if your hair is SOAKING WET (HINT HINT). after buying the small one I wish I had just bought the big one to begin with!
@naybesa KKKC takes forever to dry if you apply an oil based product before applying the custard if possible apply oils or moisturizers after so your hair wont be wet for three day (seems that long at times)

Re: Eco Styler Gel
Oh, I forgot to answer. I use Donna Marie's Miracurl Styling Jelly. Love it! I'm heavy handed so it's crunchy at first, but I use her Coca Hemp Styling Milk and crunchies are gone. I don't put the milk in until my hair is dry which is usually within a few hours of styling. She and others recommend putting the Coca Hemp on right after styling and it won't be crunchy. I don't know why I choose to wait. Just my way I guess, but my hair is curly and moistured and the sheen is great too. I'm very, very pleased with this product and I like the ingredients. $21 for 18 oz. The milk is $12 for 8 oz. Both are lasting a long time. I purchased in early September and I'm no where in the containers. My WNG's last me five days.
I have a huge tub of Eco with the olive oil, but the one time I did a WNG with it my hair was dry. I had a leave-in under it too. I just don't like. I decided not to bother with it for that. I just use it around my edges and I do plan to try the ecocustard recipe in the spring.
I will definitely be trying Darcy's Botanicals gel. I've heard good things about it and you know I love her conditioner.

Re: Eco Styler Gel
It's a mix of Ecostyler and aloe vera juice and other stuff. Makes a nice styler. The reviews are great. You can search for it here on the boards and also on Youtube.
Re: Eco Styler Gel
@ Renny-
I dunno what I'm doing,
but I plan on combining Eco, any one of these here butters I got, and a little organic honey.
I have done this with another clear curl gel (cheapo)
and it was the BOMB!!!
Y'all have been talking about this and Qhemet so much
I've got my mom on Eco & I'm gonna share my
Qhemet with her too!

Re: Eco Styler Gel
add a conditioner or a leave-in to hair before adding the gel. this will keep her soft with no crunchies or residue and still have hold.

Re: Eco Styler Gel
@Jean,
I just asked you this question on another thread, but do you you like the Burdock Butter Cream or heavy cream better. I have fine hair, so I'm leaning toward the Burdock.
Thanks.
