Thinking about getting my hair blown out...Should I?

I have a dilemma. I'm heading home to Chicago this weekend and I have been toying around with the idea of getting my hair blown and trimmed. I havent had my hair professionally done since i think January of this year and i havent worn it blown out since April when I cut the rest of the relaxed ends off. So what should i tell the stylist? Does she trim it wet, dry, what? I know i could probably use a "real" cut instead of me just cutting as i see fit. What do you guys think?

What do you mean by "blown out"? Do you mean like a dominican blow-out, or getting it flat-ironed? I had a bad experience with a dominican blow-out, so I opt for flat-ironing instead. I would just wash my hair myself (so I don't have to worry about their shampoos/conditioners) and make sure they have a good heat protectant. If not, bring your own. Ask as many questions as you have to in order to feel comfortable. If they get an attitude, then they don't need to be doing your hair anyway! I need a professional trim too, but I'm waiting until these heat and humidity go away. Gotta love this TX heat!

No I didnt mean a dominican blow-out. I just meant getting is washed, blowed and flat ironed. I totally trust this lady, not that i would have to tell her what to and not to do, but she was my stylist from like 98-06. Anyway i cant seem to find her or her shop so it is looking like i wont be getting it done.

I dont know why I feel the need to get it done just cuz ill be home. Probably cause I am so hit or miss with my natural styles and i want my hair to look fabulous while i am there. Guess i will be doing my hair tonight.
