I'm planning on getting extensions [see picture] as a winter protective style. I'll probably leave it in for about a month. However, if I like the style and my real hair doesn't become dry or damaged, I'll redo the braids every month or so during the winter. The most important thing for me is keeping my hair moisturized & clean w/o messing up my braids. I am a very active person, and so I cannot go more than a week w/o cleansing my scalp(I get a lot of sweat build up).I need tips & advice on how to care for your natural hair while you have extensions. Please & Thank U =)

When I had my braids in, I would put shampoo in a spritz bottle, spray on my scalp and clean with a washcloth. I would see a yellow tint (white cloth lol) come off into the cloth. It was a technique I got from youtube. The website above is very informative, check it out. HTH Smile
