How often to you ACV rinse?
I am finding that acv rinse with olive oil in it seems to be the ONLY thing that will give my (dusty/sandy brown with natural blonde highlights) hair any type of shine and moisture that STAYS.
everything else seems to sit on TOP of my hair.
How often do you, and is once a week too much?

I do it once a week because I use products with mineral oil. It makes my hair soft and shiny no problems after many months.

How exactly do you do an ACV rinse? I've been natural forever, but this is something I've never tried. I think my main reason for avoiding it is the smell!

Re: How often to you ACV rinse?
The smell goes away very quickly. If you've ever cleaned anything with vinegar such as floors or counters you'll notice the smell is strong but goes away very quickly.
I DO have to say though, that the recipe I use has olive oil and acv in it and my 3 year old told me the last time I did one......"Mommy you smell like dinner". when I got out of the shower.
Once you rinse it well though, its gone, but the results are FAB!

I do my ACV rinse once a week after shampooing and before conditioning.
The smell isn't that bad then and I also don't think that once a week is too often!

lumii-that was going to be my next question. when in the whole regimen process should you do it?
I usually do it BEFORE I condition bc I need my conditioner for detangling. thanks!

I do it once a week...after shampoo, before DC. I love it...took the itchy scalp away...and I agree, the smell disappears as my hair dries.

Re: How often to you ACV rinse?
So how do you do it exactly? Do you just pour it over your head?

I wash my hair in 4 sections so afterwards, I just put my ACV rinse on each section and leave it in for like 30mins before proceeding.

I mix 2 tablespoons of ACV in 8 oz of water. I shampoo my hair once, rinse, pour ACV all over and in my hair, squeeze slightly, rinse, shampoo, rinse, DC etc.

I was reading Chirco book over the weekend and she recommended not doing ACV rinses more than once a month.

I was actually just doing a little research on ACV rinses... Has anybody ever used a pH strip to test the acid level of their rinse? I was thinking about doing one, soon.

Okay. I just did some googling and the pH is around 2.8-3.0 of GOOD ACV. A pH of to 3 is necessary to close the hair cuticle. Soo, yeah... Good stuff. I'll try this when I wash my hair next.

Re: How often to you ACV rinse?
I do an ACV and Green tea rinse for 30 minutes once a month. It is a great clarifier and reliever of dry and itchy scalp. Maybe it is just my hair but after the treatment it seems that my curl pattern coils up tighter. My curls are more springy or something. Anyone else experience this?
Re: How often to you ACV rinse?
i do avc rinses once a month. i do it after the deep condition process. i do it after because avc rinses closes the cuticles and locks in moisture so i use it to close the cuticle to lock in moisture from deep conditioning instead of having my cuticles shut before the dt. i just pour it over my head after i dt. i dont rinse it out than leave in conditioner.
