Bigen?

Bigen (powdered hair dye)-

I've seen the Bigen brand for years in retails stores but never purchased, is it 100% natural or have any henna similarities?

Is it safe for natural hair?

[b]I personally have used Bigen for years. It is not like henna. It is a chemical. I had to stop using it because it started to break off my hair since I had to color every 6 weeks to cover my gray.

Bigen is nothing like henna. It is a regular permanent hair dye that contains PPD. And though the box states there is no peroxide in it, Bigen contains sodium perborate. Sodium perborate undergoes hydrolysis in contact with water (and Bigen needs to be mixed with water), producing hydrogen peroxide and borate. So you might as well buy some regular old hair dye. HTH.
