whatgetsonmytits: new to CurlStreet
Hi, ladies! I'm bursting with happiness about my good hair today, after having a 3-day string of frizz and tangles. AND it was the best day to have a good hair day because I had a job interview today (went well!) . So, I thought I would share.
My usual wash n go, but with lots of shine, definition and moisture. I co-washed, used one of several leave-in concoctions I'm experimenting with (only really started making an effort with my hair 5 weeks ago, but am 6 months natural), and used a bit of gel or curl cream (gel on my crown) and sealed most of my ends with castor oil. We'll see what the 2nd day looks like tomorrow

Welcome!
Your hair looks good. I hope you will share with us often what works for you. What gel and curl creams are you currently using? Which one(s) do you like best?

Re: whatgetsonmytits: new to CurlStreet
Thanks for the warm welcome and well wishes.
I'm still experimenting with a routine. For today, I co-washed with a L'Oréal conditioner (the one for dry, frizzy hair). I don't think it's completely CG friendly but I'm trying to use up all my stuff from my pre-enlightenment days (youtube, forums, NC, British Curlies) because I've been buying things left and right for future trial!
I section my hair while dripping wet then apply my leave in (Tresemme base, coconut oil, jojoba oil, alone very juice-I eyeball the measurements). I shingle this through then use L'Oréal curl power curl cream for most of my head, except my crown which is a bit more coarse than the rest. I use Umberto Giannini 'Curl Friends' scrunching gel. I then take some Castor oil and twirl around my ends to seal. I prefer GP completely air dry but couldn't go to my interview with wet curls! So I air dried for two hours while getting ready then I diffused.
I'll let you know if I'm able to revive it to at least 50% of it's luster tomorrow! How do you ladies preserve a wash n GP for 2nd day hair? I'm still experimenting with options and making videos as I go along.
I'm going to do two strand twists on Thursday or Friday. I wore them last week for the first tome and lived them. I'm so glad Penny is long enough to get to that stage.

To revive my hair, I shake my head back and forth and forward and back a few times to loosen the curls. I then use a mix of conditioner, water and oil or aloe vera juice/gel, EVOO and water. I apply it until hair is slightly damp. I then apply a product to help combat frizz.
2nd day hair after successful co-wash yesterday
So, I wore my stocking cap last night, but left the curls near the nape of my neck out, which seemed to preserve them better than pushing them up in the cap. I then shook my head from side to side and front and back like I was possessed.
Then, I tried my new spray reviver (finally got my glycerin yesterday) made of: water, glycerin, AVJ, jojoba oil and sweet almond oil. I sprayed until damp, but not soaking (because I do NOT have the time for soaking wet hair every day). Most importantly, I did not let my Hand-in-Hairitis mess up my 2nd day curls. Tada, I got good results! Keep in mind that these were taken after working out, so there's a little bit of frizz, but I'm very happy about this.
Re: whatgetsonmytits: new to CurlStreet
Yay, I'm glad you achieved second day hair. It looks fabulous--your curls are defined & shiny.
Re: whatgetsonmytits: new to CurlStreet
Thanks, @ChrsLvsBlks. I'm gonna push my luck for 3rd day hair tomorrow because I won't have time to do twists until Friday.
Thanks for the tip on the curl refresher. I may try it with a bit of conditioner added to it.

Thanks for the warm welcome and compliments, ladies
Lol, I know people must wonder about my name--especially other Americans. "gets on my tits" is a common saying in the UK that refers to things that get on one's nerves; really annoying. I thought it was very amusing, so I adopted it as my screen name and started a blog in its namesake to vent about random stuff that bothers me (whatgetsonmytits.blogspot.com).
But I promise, I am not an angry person . Just don't get on my nerves! LOL

LOL...I figured it was something like that, especially upon reading your location. But, I just wanted to be sure (before I went around saying it)!whatgetsonmytits wrote:

Re: whatgetsonmytits: new to CurlStreet
Welcome to CSJ! I love your hair and your curls are beautiful! I was just about to ask you about your screename and then I read your explanation. LOL!!! I love it!
Re: whatgetsonmytits: new to CurlStreet
LOL I was going to ask for an explanation of the name too! That head full of curls is Amazing!!! Welcome to Curl Street!
Re: whatgetsonmytits: new to CurlStreet
Maybe I should just put an explanation in my signature. I think I will do that today so that people in other threads aren't embarrassed to ask. I did consider censoring it like I did my twitter handle, but decided against it. It's funnier as it is.
Thanks for all the support! Man, this week my hair is really working for me. I just hope I can be observant enough of the methods and product combinations I've tried this week so that I can get consistent results.
Third day hair with a bit more frizz, but still leave-out-the-house-able:
