Bedtime Routines
Hi,
I don't know what I should be doing with my hair at night to maintain the style? I have been wearing the TNC, BNC and hair cornrowed then unraveled. Should I only put a bonnet on? Should I rebraid or retwist every night? Please let me know what your bedtime routine is for your style?
Thanks,
Chevonne

Re: Bedtime Routines
I always put on a bonnet. Depending on how wild I sleep I can stretch a style for almost a week.

I normally do a high, loose pony and on a good night tie a scarf around it. I'm still good if I don't because I sleep on a satin pillow case.

I tried the loose high pony before before but it didn't work because my hair held the high pony shape...I swear my hair is related to playdough!

Tia, I'm cracking up! I love your bun, now what's your process. I need to try to do that with my wig, lol

I don't remember where I've read this before, but someone suggested using bobby pins to kind of pin the hair up into an almost mohawk thing. I've been doing it and it keeps my hair decent for a couple of days. Other times, I retwist. That can get to be a pain though.

I use a bonnet and/or a scarf. I usually clip my twist-/braid-outs down with my jaw clips and then cover it. Before my bonnet's elastic bit the dust, I would tie it up and then put the bonnet over it because toss and turn so badly at night.. LOL! AND I sleep on a satin pillowcase! Thanks for all the replies! I was REALLY trying to get away from rebraiding/twisting my hair at night. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Re: Bedtime Routines
My hair is not very long yet but I use a bonnet that ties because I hate the mark that a bonnet with elastic leaves on my forehead!
Re: Bedtime Routines
I also do the high ponytail. It's not perfect, but it works okay enough.

High ponytail, and spray the next morning with a bit water and bit of a conditioner. I tried to sleep with a bonet, but it doesn't make a diffrence.

My hair is not long either. I just put my bonnet on and in the morning I spritz it with water and go. I know this will not help you but it may help someone else.

Re: Bedtime Routines
I prefer to just sleep on a satin pillowcase when I have my hair out. It's big enough that wearing a bonnet smooshes it all together.
