Hello Curlies
I have been on CN for a few months now and decided to do my own CSJ. My natural hair challenge started with my best friend. She is always getting ideas in her head and not following through so I decided that I would transition for a while. If my hair did not meet my approval, I could always get a retouch on the relaxer. Spring fever hit and I was in a desperate search for a "beach body." I learned that transitioning and Zumba did not mix. I was frustrated with my hair and was tired of getting it pressed every two weeks to see it puffy again in a few days.
My BC was on April 25,2010. I walked into the beauty shop and was ready for the BC. My hairstylist was horrified and was constantly dropping the comb and scissors. Afterwards, I was relieved only to wake up in the morning and sob (i mean the ugly cry) asking myself what had I done. Through the enouragement of my BFF that had BC'd two months earlier, I was able to make it off of the floor and to work.
I have learned through this process that people will react based on your feelings towards your hair. I am falling in love with my hair more each day. I have worked on curbing my Pjism until I have used up some products. This forum is great because I have leared that what works for one will definitely not work for you. I look forward to sharing my journey with all of you. If anyone has any suggestions about how to get these sides to grow- I'm all ears.

Hey Candice and welcome to curl street! I look forward to reading about your journey.
Re: CandiceKane
Welcome Candice! I hear you on transitioning and Zumba. They DO NOT play well together. I had some of the same feelings you did after BCing. I BC'd on my lunch hour and HAD to return to work! I laugh when I think about the nerve I mustered up to do that... Welcome to CurlStreet. Can't wait to follow your journey.

Hi Candice!!
Congratulations on starting your natural journey!!! I was excited when I did my BC, but I had a hard time with embracing my inability to style. I just should have worn my TWA with some big hoops and called it a day!! However, I was too busy trying to acheive the look I thought I should have!!
You are correct that people's reaction to your hair will be driven by the way you feel about it yourself!!
You are going to learn a lot on CS...I know I have. So enjoy!!!

Hair Care finds at Ross
You all are the best!!! I went to Ross yesterday as suggested by Juices n Berries and found the large bottle of Bed Head Moisture Maniac and Yes to Cucumbers Conditioner. The prices were unreal! What wouldve been a thirty dollar bill in Target turned into fourteen dollars. Thanks ladies for all of your suggestions.
