I am not my hair! The beginning of the real me :)
Hello ladies! I am a 25 years old and just the did the BC yesterday! I must admit I felt overwhelmed considering I have had long hair since as long as I could remember lol. My long hair was my security blanket and for the first time ever I am letting the world see the real me. I must admit the positive feedback I have been receiving has completely shocked me but the support has been amazing!!!!! CN had a lot to do with my decision on going natural. Seeing all these beautiful women happy made me realize how unhappy I was with my hair and how badly I missed doing certain activites that my relaxed hair wouldn't allow me to do. I am looking forward to see how this journey goes and from what I read on CN it is well worth it. Will be posting pics of my journey the whole way! Thank you ladies for being the inspiration behind my journey of the new me!!!

I am so sorry Bella. I do not know where I got Selena from? It is late and my eyes are playing tricks on me.

Welcome to curl street! And welcome to your natural hair care journey (I say that like I'm a natural hair care specialist and I really ain't!)
I hear you about letting the world see the real you. There is something really freeing about letting go of your hair. Maybe because for so long we were told the only way we could love our hair was to put chemicals in it. But now I think that learning how to embrace our real texture is reallying showing our hair love. Almost by accepting your texture you're accepting everything about you that makes you....you.

When I was in the twa stage sometimes I would put a leave-in conditioner in my hair at night and a little oil to seal. Since you just bc'd you may want to try baggying overnight. Apply a conditioner or moisturizer to your hair and put a plastic cap on before going to bed and rinse in the morning. Also try deep conditioning your hair.
