I love the results of the curlformers that you guys have. Has anyone seen them done on shorter hair?

I have never used curlformers but you all have gotten some amazing results!

I use flexirods on my daughter (4A) and they get the job done! And they are cheap, lol [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

NikG20 - Your daughter's hair is beautiful! I haven't considered flexi rods. I'm thinking I need a little more length so I won't be looking like the old lady at church with tight curls. LOL

LOL!!! I remember watching a youtube video where you can kind of space the hair out as you wrap it around the flexi rod, if that makes sense.

& Thank you!!! =)

Omg NikG20 your daughter's hair is beautiful!!!!! I've had flexirods for about 2 years but never used them, now I'm tempted to break em out!

I've never tried curlformers, but if my flexirod set comes out this nice then I may not spend the $60+ it costs to get them

so cute! i saw your blog and i'm sooo glad you stepped away from the Just 4 me! She didn't need that at all her hair is awesome. what tutorial did you use for the flexirods? I'm wondering how to keep the ends on the flexirods. I started to get some the other day at sallys because the curlformers are so hard to sleep in.

curlynikki - i so thought I replied to this already but pincurling was a success! I'll create a new thread and post pictures of my pincurled hair and another after I take them out.

You could definitely tell which ones I got lazy on because the curls take exactly the shape of how you roll and pin them. So next time I'll have to be careful but it definitely re'defined my curls. So there's another trick to add to the toolbox. woohoo!

Thanks ladies!!

Denise, I watched about 3 tutorials all together but the most helpful one was pretty dimples, I'm not sure of her exact youtube name but it is something like that. I would make sure to smooth the ends down all together then start rolling the hair starting from the ends onto the rod, roll some more hair over the ends then start working my way up...if that makes sense....

You guys have me anxious to try some rod or curlformer sets. I can't wait to try! I've done a perm rod set, but I didn't have time to let my hair dry properly and it came out a hot blazing mess.

I tried them, and was not feeling it. I like my curls tight and these made them soo loose. I prefer flexi rods, they never fail you.

Here are some transitioning rod pics, excuse my jammies Laughing

CurlFormers - Page 2 Empty Re: CurlFormers

Post by ty 5th December 2009, 6:05 pm

I just did my second curlformers set this weekend. I started out attempting a rollerset which I haven’t been able to successfully accomplish since going completely natural, but the curlformers saved the day. The money was worth it for me because they are much easier for me to put in than regular rollers (once I got the hang of it), and they allow my hair to dry faster. Some of the drawbacks for me are that the size that come in the set are not long enough for my hair so I have to leave my roots out, and also, I don’t think I can comb out the curls and do a saran wrap with these like I used to be able to do with regular rollers (I think because of the size that I bought).

Right after taking them out and before separating:

Thanks so much d.denise!!! No, I haven’t tried the extra long pack yet. I was trying to save some money by buying the salon kit, but I think I might have to buy a few packs of the extra long.

@d.denise - Man, I wish I had done that, lol. I was trying to wait and see if they were going to start selling the kit with the extra long curlformers and then seeing everyone else's results made me want to try it right then and there...oh well.

@ Winnielours - Can't wait to see your results. I used 30 this time.

lol awww man! but honestly your ends still look good from what I can see. you just left them out?

winnie-I use abetween 28-36 depending on how lazy I am. But the smaller the sections, the less time it itakes to dry and the more I like it... so 30ish. If you are buying the individual packs I bought 4.
