Fro hawk Empty Fro hawk

Post by A-Felice 3rd May 2010, 12:14 am

Yesterday was my best friend's senior recital and I needed to do something with my hair. I bought a banna clip and planned to wear a Fro hawk thingie. Oh My God. It took half an hour to get the clip in...and then it was headache city. I was running late so I just had to go with it. I think maybe the clip was just not wide enough for how thick my hair is. Any other ladies with superthick hair can tell me where to find a a banna clip that dosen't give me a migraine? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Anyway I thought it came out cute, so afterwards when I changed I took some pics of my hair. Smile

I put my hair in a loose pony, then put on the banana clip, and finally remove the ponytail holder. It's not as tight and doesn't pop off when done that way.

Thanks! I was trying bobby pins but there weren't holding my hair tight enough. I prolly have to get the really big ones? Do you know any that give a tighter hold??

I tried that too lol. Then I realised my hair can't do ponys yet. It's still to short. Defininitely a tip for the future!

I put the front in the banana clip, and bobby pin the back to match.... if that makes sense...

I tried to do a frohawk last night, but it didn't work out too good, so I just pinned my hair up. I think i need to practice with the banana clips first, but I can't seem to find them anywhere! Where are you guys finding the banana clips at ????

Hey A-Felice,

I know about working with a shorter length.
I use bobby pins, but what I do is REALLY work it back as far as it will go and scarf it! I leave on the scarf for like 30 minutes to at least set and that helps it hold.
Then I take the task to form my fro hawk, puff or whatever I am pulling back.
I hope that makes sense!
There's hope for us thick hair headed chicks!
