Satin Scarf Braid Out- Love it!!!
Sweet approached me and asked me to start this journal.
Nyla means - one who succeeds.... and the last name is COILS.
I gave my hair the name of Nyla, because I am a PISCES with a LEO rising. When I started going to Natural Hair Forums, I wanted a name that would be meaningful, to all aspects of my personality. I thought, I was naming Nyla after Simba's girlfriend in the Lion King. Come to find out that character's name is NALA!
It all started like this:
I am tender - headed and always hated getting my DO, DID!!
I hate for people to touch my hair- with a perm or with out.
I had a press-n-curl until I was 15. Here it is!
I begged for a PERM. My mom conceded! My hair isnt short- she just pinned it all up for me!
Me at the PROM..
I have been natural 3 times.
The first time, my aunt asked me, 'Why dont you let your hair grow out?' She goes on to say, 'I bet it will look like Macy Gray.'
So, I did... I didnt really document my other attempts at being NATURAL.
I went through love changes and got a perm and some weave.
My wedding DAY..
Love took another change and I went back to the natural.
Met a new man. He saw me with a press and curl. He liked the press and curl. I got tired of the heat of the stove, so I got another perm.
Went through another change and went back natural..
So here it goes me, over the past year...
I am in a twist challenge...
week 2 --twisted up for the week. I am loving this! My biggest dilemna is to
Ok, sweet...How did I do??

Re: Satin Scarf Braid Out- Love it!!!
Thank you ladies for all the warm welcomes.
I am all dressed up with no place to go this morning.
Done on semi-damp hair. Applied Koils by Nature Sweet Almonds Joy Butter to length of
hair and then added the KNB Peppermint gel. My twist came out cute! I think?
Now here's the back
Dont they look moisturized?
It's not greasy and my hair feels soooooo soft!! I am having HIH bad!!!

ooooo looking good Nyla..now the gel didn't make your hair shrink? I came here to thank you..Sasha is looking good today...going to update my thread now!! Your hair is sooo shiny I love it!!
Re: Satin Scarf Braid Out- Love it!!!
Sweet- No, It doesn't I think it is the process that I use.
When I do the twist the hair is semi dry (damp)
I then add the KBN to the length of hair and roots. Then do the same with gel. Next I twist, wet the tips of the hair and apply more KBN butter.
I got this from either Kimmay or Black Onyx
Then I do the braids- the first night i don't do the NIGHT process
( at night what i do is this:
Once I have braided the twists, I wet the tips and apply KBN butter. Once they start to frizz (around day 4) apply the KBN butter along the length of the twists.
Then do the braids- wet the tips and KBN butter is applied.)
