Hi KNH - I hear rumors the announcement will be made either end of January or February for the Iphone - it will work off the new 4G network they have now.
I don't have a specific regime - last week I co-washed and twisted. I try to wash 2x a month and DC 2x a month - in between co-washes. But once I get the steamer I'm aiming to DC weekly initially and then maybe every 2 weeks. I'm hoping for help with moisture and also my dry scalp issues.
I tried the bantu knots for the first time last night - I'm sorry I didn't take pictures of the knots. But I used Qhemet heavy cream along with the hydrating balm - spritzed to dampen hair. Only used a tad bit for each section. I had about 12 knots. Although I decided late yesterday to try this style - it's wasn't fully dry this morning - but dry enough to take out. I must say I love the outcome. It's really curly and I know would be even better fully dried. I will definitely be doing this style often. Here is a glimpse of what it looks like this morning - it's a little frizzy because it wasn't fully dried. But I have bounce and movement. Again, I did this on old hair - not washed or co-washed.

Hey 3C - go head and try it. I shyed away from it too, but then I watched a review CN and decided to give it a swirl. To my surprise it turned out great.CocaColaCutie wrote:happy new year bbd! love the nye hair and the new bantu knot out. i've still yet to try this style, but you're making me want to!
Thanks - Yes, it does have bounce - which I was surprised by - because it's OLD hair - not newly washed or conditioned.KinkyNappyHappy wrote:I love the way it frames your face!! Pretty!! It looks like it has bounce and movement!! Looking good B!!

Your hair is looking good as usual!!! It's getting so long!!!
I cant wait to hear your review on the steamer. When they first came out (and people were getting them for free), everyone was saying it was amazing but know that people are actually paying for the steamers and giving HONEST reviews, I am hearing mix reviews....so I will hold out on purchasing one.

I got mixed review too, Lynnie. But I did get a steam session when I got my BC and I loved it. So if it's any comparison, it's a go. I believe you have to do it consistently to see and feel results. Some ppl only use it that one time and expect too much or aren't getting the results they want. It's like any product buy and try - all heads are different - so results will vary - you just have take the chance and give it a try.

Hey BBD that hair is looking fab as usual! Hope you are enjoying the first Monday of the year!
Re: BlondeByDesire's Bella - Love Being Natural
HI BBD,
your bantu knots look lovely.
I have money set aside for a steamer. But I am tossed between a steamer and a soft bonnet dryer. I read the latter is great for DCing as well as drying the hair for a set. (sigh) DECISIONS, DECISIONS.
anyway, I await your steamer review

Yeah, I have a Pibbs 514 dryer - that did awesome DC's - I need to pull it out of my garage. Since the move - space is limited. I'm looking forward to the steamer though. Soft bonnet is great too - when you want to DC and also for quick drying on some styles. Both I believe are good investments.

Re: BlondeByDesire's Bella - Love Being Natural
Okay - I decided to try and salvage my hair until this weekend. I haven't washed in about 4 weeks - co-washing (2x) in between - my scalp is screaming now.
So I've always wanted the cornrows (braids) in front and either curly in back or high bun. So I attempted this style. Where I fail is when it comes to parting the hair and direction of the cornrows/braids. So here are my mediocre (sp? ) results. Suffice to say this will come down as soon as I get home tonight.
Also - I'm in need of a good moisturizing shampoo - preferable organic - one that doesn't have crappy ingriedients. Any suggestions? Also it would be good if I could buy locally, but if not, I'm willing to order it.Have a great day!

Good morning, I like all the styles you posted. As for your braids and puff, we are always more critical than others. Remember parting and braiding in the direction we want takes practice. I hope this will not be your last attempt at braiding. In no time, you will be doing a job you will be pleased with wearing.
Curls brand shampoo is pretty good. I have only tried the one you purchase in the salon.

Thanks Chrs - thanks for the vote of confidence - I will keep practicing - because I want to wear braided straight back come this summer ... like you.
I have tried Curls in the past - I will it another shot. Thanks.

Where are the pics of the failed style? I think it looks good! What didn't you like about it? Have you tried the Giovanni shampoo ? Or the Alba they have a mango moisturizing shampoo that is good. I find them in Whole foods and Harmon Beauty HTH?

Thanks Sweet, I'm my own worst critic. I just need to perfect the parts and direction of braids.
I'm gonna purchase the Giovanni today. I'll have to try and find the Alba - no Whole Foods in my area - at least not to my knowledge.

Thanks - I had this color before I transitioned to natural. I've had it well over 10 years now. I do it myself. It doesn't have a name - it's under a new name by Ms. Clairol - I can't think of it right now. But before it was called. Ms Clairol Luminize (clear) - he lightens your natural hair to it's fullest potential. Over the years, the Sun has lightened it as well - it's various shades of blonde. My natural color is dark brown/black.
I believe it has altered my texture from what I can remember when I was kid. My texture is really loose now and I comb through with ease during detangling/wash sessions. Nothing like I remember when I was a kid.
No. I have never had an problems with it.
