Come on, man. He looks ridic. His skin looks all splotchy and unhealthy.
At first I thought this was a vitiligo situation, but this looks like some cosmetic bleaching to me.

Yeah, it's terrible that someone would do this to themselves on purpose. I have vitiligo and I still didn't bleach my skin, although i don't judge anyone with vitiligo who does.

I feel you. From what I know of bleaching, it's very damaging to the skin, but some people with vitiligo decide to do it for cosmetic reasons. I would understand if that was his case, but there doesn't seem to be any evidence of it on the old pics, and there is the problem of the green contacts and the conked hair.
So it seems like there's a color problem here.

Yea he and my mom were neighbors and thinking about DR history I really understand, then dont understand what was going through his mind. Dominican's are too proud to do something like this. lmao

Unfortunately, I think this is colorism.

In the DR, being black is highly looked down upon. While what he did is sad and shows an obvious attempt to be something he CLEARLY isn't...his actions are a symptom of a deeper cultural and socio-economic issue.

I just noticed how different his hair looks....

He admitted that he used a cream to lighten his skin. If you notice, he also has contacts and his hair looks processed. To be honest, I think he looks a mess. Not a good look at all.

This is so true...my family is Dominican! I always hear "morena" (black) to call a dark or brown complexion person and "blanco" to describe the lighter complexion! and definitely "bad" hair! It's sickening!

This is definitely sad. He doesn't even look as attractive! When I saw this on Essence.com, they didn't even mention the contacts and hair. WOW.
