My favorite science fiction author too! In fact my screen name was inspired by Lilith's Brood. If you enjoyed that you should definitely check out Seed to Harvest.

Re: Octavia Butler
The only book I've read of hers is Kindred, and I liked it. I may have to check out some of her other stuff.
Re: Octavia Butler
I miss Octavia. One of my favorite books by her is Patternmaster.

Re: Octavia Butler
I'm reading my first Octavia Butler book (Kindred) and I love it. Does anyone have other suggestions. If you like Octavia Butler, you'll like Tananarive Due also. I've read all of her books, a few of them twice. I love her!

Love Octavia Butler! She is my SF idol. I will try Tananarive (anyone know how to pronounce that?) Due.

Re: Octavia Butler
I'll have to read Lilith's Brood. I've read Kindred, The Parable of the Sower, and the Parable of Talents (all great!). I tried to read Mind of my Mind, but I just can't get into it. It's a little too abstract for me. I'll have to try it again another time (I bought it).

Re: Octavia Butler
Tananarive is pronounced exactly how it's spelled 'Tah-nah-nah-reeve'. I've listened to a few interviews of hers. My Soul to Keep, The Living Blood, Blood Colony....all great books. Joplins Ghost and Good House are great too. I just love her style. I love that she incorporates true history into the stories too. If you look up Lalibela, those churches are real. The Scott Joplin stories are real. I would love to meet her.
