Post by mstokes2008 30th March 2010, 12:31 am

So this morning I was in a rush after my awesome WnG and my pictures came out really blurry so I'm going to try again tomorrow if I have time, && i have an interview after class so I want my hair to look as good as it did today lol. So wish me luck lol

On another note I just ordered some stuff from Butter n Bars and I'm way excited. Does anyone have any great shea butter mixes they'd like to share??

Also I was looking into doing the CG method but oh my all the different cones and stuff is just to much. So for now I'm just going to use what I have and keep learning what Miss Makayela (my hair) likes and doesn't like.

That's the best way to go. Phoenix did fine with cones when I first BC'd. Now she doesn't like them so much but if she did, I would have no problem using them.

So I tried MC's Accordion WnG technique yesterday for class. First I DC'd overnight with a HEHH, Aussie Moist, and Olive Oil mixture which worked out really well. Then I co-washed with my Suave Naturals Fresh Strawberry. After I rinsed it out I did the Accordion Technique with my HETT conditioner and then followed up with the HETT mousse. Here are some pictures of it soaking wet.

Right before class, almost dry

I must say I am very pleased with the results. This is the most curl definition I've seen so far. I was ecstatic!!

Post by mstokes2008 30th March 2010, 6:22 pm

So this morning I woke up wishing and hoping for 2nd day hair!! (especially since I had no time to redo it this morning & I had a job interview right after class. But I woke up and yuck it was like i had some type of curly fade, like the sides and back were totally smashed & the top was still all curly.

Mstokes2008-Straight hair & 1 year since my last relaxer!! - Page 2 Dsc00711

But thats besides the point, I took my spray bottle that has a mixture of water, a little bit of conditioner and some olive oil, and got my hair soaking wet and low and behold curls started popping back out!!

Mstokes2008-Straight hair & 1 year since my last relaxer!! - Page 2 Dsc00712

I did need to add a little bit more mousse though which was no big deal seeing as my hair only took about 5 minutes to refresh it, but here is my end result:

I must say I am very very pleasantly surprised at how it came out today. I don't think I could pull off third day hair, but it's good to know my 2nd day hair came out just fine without any hassle. Now I just have to work on kicking my headband habit. I don't like wearing them everyday, I want my hair to just be free lol

Oh & to top it off I GOT THE JOB!!!!!! woot! I will be working at Armani Exchange & I can't wait!!! The discounts are ridiculous!!! I just hope I don't spend my whole paycheck in there!! lol.

Thanks! and it usually isn't as noticeable as it was this morning. I guess it was because the curls on top were still pretty much in place. And I'm not use to seeing any curls on top lol

Thanks!!! Are you getting a "crunch" from the mousse?? Idk if I'm using to much of if I need to use something under it or what, but I'm not loving it lol

Thanks!!! I'm slowly starting to get my moisture back so it's soft until I put the mousse on it. Idk how to combat it lol

Yes, the mousse did make it crunchy! I may skip that next time or add some oil before using it.

I added some oil before I reapplied this morning but I didn't have as much crunch yesterday. So maybe it was just bc I already had some in my hair. I may try my IC gel after I co wash in the morning and see how that works out.

Thanks IB && SheeTacular!!

Happy Tuesday Ladies!! I've been so busy this past week that I didn't hardly post at all. Nothing is really happening on the hair front, just doing WnGs since thats pretty much all I can do. But I Have been trying out different products. My PJism is in high effect and is severely denting my wallet. So I put myself on a personal No buy challenge for this month.

I ordered some Shea butter, jojoba oil, and a peppermint Aloe Spritzer from BnB last week and I got it yesterday. I made a basic shea butter mix with EVOO and the jojoba oil and so far so good. My hair has a nice little shine to it. When I first applied it I think I put way to much cuz it just felt gross, but when I woke up this morning it just felt really moisturized, so I'll be keeping an eye on how my hair likes it.

I also ordered some Aloe Vera Gel from iHerb that came in today. Don't think I'll be using it anytime soon because I've been searching high & low for the eco styler gel and I found it a few days ago!! I seem to like it better than my IC Fantasia gel, so we'll see how that goes as well.

Right before I BC'd I bought some Cantu Shea butter Leave in but never used it. Well I used it last week, once as a styling aid, and once as a leave in... yeah I'm not feeling it at all. I don't like the smell or the consistency and afterwards my curls were kinda weird looking. So that will be just chilling under my sink for the time being.

Hmmm... what else did I get... ohhhh Bed Head moisture maniac! I've been trying to find a decent price on it & I got it at the Bx for 9 bucks so I was ok with that. I love the smell, how it feels in my hair, after I rinse it out and how moisturized it feels the next day. So far so good, I think it might have been worth the 9 bucks.

I have discovered that I'm not to fond of my HEHH but the TT is still working well for me & my suave naturals fresh mountain strawberry is still my first love♥️

After class today I was a little bored and wanted some oreos, and for some reason I walked out of Target with oreos, ice cream, The boondocks, a bottle of suave naturals coconut, 8.5 oz bottle of Giovanni 50:50 conditioner and sample sizes of the Tea Tree and Smooth as Silk conditioners. My boyfriend was not to happy Sad && my mom seemed kinda upset to when I called her all excited. They just don't understand. My mom said my hair would fall out because of all the products but I'm not using them all at once. I'm using one for a few days- a week to see how my hair likes it and then going from there. Ugh!!! But I do need to stop buying stuff. Oh well. As I use my new products I'll let y'all know how they work out.

((Sorry such a long post, felt like alot happened this past week lol))

I know it's horrible. I'm stopping now I promise lol. I'm trying to not buy any more products that contain paraben so I'm gonna attempt to use up everything I have before I buy anything else.

I know. It's so bad. I'm done for this month and probably next month as well. I'm going to try and use up what I have. But yeah I made a list of everything I had and I was completely in shock. It's a shame. I feel like I need therapy or something lol
