I have a lot of gray hairs and I want to dye my hair black... what dye should I use? I know it's better not to dye your hair but I am 27 and prefer not to look like someones grandmother Laughing

If you're interested in henna, you could do a two step treatment--henna, then indigo. It will cover grays and give you black, not red Smile

I'm 27 and graying already also. It sucks. I dyed my hair about 3 times this year already. The gray's continue to show through. Let me know if you find one that isn't too damaging and cover's the gray.

I have grays, too, and using OTC dyes broke off my hair during my relaxer days, so I'm a henna head now, thanks to CurlyNikki! Henna is all natural, conditions, strengthens, and imparts shine. Get the real deal at www.mehandi.com! They have henna for African hair, Jamila (gotta do your research), indigo like Nik said. You can achieve many outcomes, depending on what your original/dyed hair color is now.

Thanks you all. I still have relaxed hair right now and am ok with the gray's b/c they don't show too much right now, with these protective styles.. but once I do the BC I'm going to try the henna. This blog is the best thing since sliced bread!
