Naturals Need A Magazine On News Stands

I was in the supermarket the other day and I ususal take a magazine from the line and walk around with it. On this particular day I grab a Black Hair magazine. I flipped through the pages to find something I could do to my curly hair and only found 5 pages out of the 80 pages ( not really sure how many were in all but we all know its alot).

Naturals only get a mini insert as if only 5% of black women have natural hair. It's clear from sites as these and youtube that thier are sooo many women and men who are natural. We need a magazine that we could find new styles, advice, and salon suggestions from as well.

I'm venting but I'd like to know if any of you feel the same way.

I'm co-signing. A natural magazine would be be really cool. Like a print addition with blog/online community. Hmmm...

I've been thinking the same thing. My mom has a subscription to BHC and every month I look at those same lame 5 pages. It would be great to see us have a mag of our own. But at the same time, I think they should give us more attention in this particular magazine as well. Perhaps if more people were exposed to natural stylings, they'd consider going natural.

I agree there should be one on news stands. There is however an online magazine called Naptural Roots Magazine. I'm a fan of them on facebook, and you can find their issues there.

This is a great emagazine.

However, the vision for my emagazine deals with different curly stages(twa to BSL) as well as different textures and curl patterns. It will also strictly deal with hair, from transitioning to locs.
