Hey Newbie Here
Hey guys, I have been lurking for awhile here and on LHCF and I've finally decided to join. I have learnt so much from you wonderful ladies and I am very thankful.
A little history about my hair:
My mom relaxed my hair when i was hmm...i cant rememeber... im guessin around 6 or 7. My hair was really thick and she didnt know how to care for it. Here (btw im from Trinidad), ppl. dont really know how to care for natural hair. I wasnt mad that she relaxed it cuz i hated those detangling sessions.
The longest my hair ever got relaxed was APL. Then...... in 2006 ... I had a major set back.... I put a permanent brown color in my hair and i did some bleached streaks.... (for my high school grad.)... I looked so HOT!! lol... but not for long.... I didnt know how to take care of it and it started to break. Ppl. started tellin me my hair was thinning out...I tried to take care of it by doing DCs and stuff but it didnt help. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
At the end of 2006 I decided to go natural. I was jus fed up of my breaking hair. So i transitioned (At that time I didnt even kno thats what its called) and gradually chopped my relaxed ends off..... In 2008 (i think it was 2008... i didnt see the need to document these things) I cut the last bit of relaxed hair off.
I struggled wit my natural hair, it was only about NL and I didnt kno how to care for it... I jus did box braids and twist wit small black rubber bands on the end...but it never never stayed neat!! my hair is so weird. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Anyways I got fed up of my natural hair.... so i decided to texturise.... I did a search on the internet on texturising black hair and I found LHCF. I read someone's post about their method, I was so excited, I went out and bought some relaxer and did it ... this was in May 2009. I tink it was underprocessed cuz i can see a demarcation line and im sure i have new growth.
I continued reading LHCF and found CN and then realised I didnt have to texturise in the first place... there are so many methods and stuff i cuda use on my natural hair. So now im transitioning to natural again...
So thanks you to all you beautiful women... and I look forward to growing with you!!
Sry for the lenghty post.... BTW Happy New Year!!!

Welcome!!! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
I am no good with the hair typing thing, but I think you might have mostly 3c hair in the Before pictures.

I'm just going to go ahead and let you know that SweetDrk1 and Lynnieluv are going to get on you about entering the BNB contest. Go check it out if you haven't already. You'd definitely benefit from the wealth of information that all the ladies on here have and we could find out everything we needed to know in one spot to help you out if need be.
