Cleaning up the TWA after BC Empty Cleaning up the TWA after BC

Post by bklynmama1 30th December 2009, 9:40 pm

So I randomly BC'd last week and there are still plenty of little relaxed ends in there. Should I go to a barber? A natural hair salon? Would they style it after the trim? The ones I looked at online seem to all specialize in braids, locs etc, but I just want to learn how to work with my TWA. I'm in Brooklyn NY if anyone has any suggestions!

Thanks!!

How short is your hair? When my hair was really short I went to a barber instead of a salon because they are used to doing really short hair. Just make sure you tell them not to line your front hairline! LOL

My hair is still in the shape that my barber cut it in this summer even though it has grown out.

I'd say I have about an inch, 1.5 inches in some places (I hacked it up like a mad woman lol!!) I'm kind of scared of the barber, do they wash it first? Or cut it dry? Will a barber know what I'm talking about when I say that I just want the relaxed ends cut? This truly is starting all over again!

I went into a barber - there was a natural lady in there so she knew exactly what I needed. So try going into a barber bc you will be surprised, they know what we need. plus it only cost me $10 and I gave her a $10tip

I have the same problem. I had my sister hack off all my hair yesterday, and I noticed I still had perm on the ends of my TWA. It looks kind odd. I know I am not suppose to play in my hair but these last two days I have been playing with it to see what I have to work with its fustrating and exciting all at the same time.

I heard that if you go to a barber, it messes up the ends when they buzz it with the clippers. But I don't know from personal experience. Has anyone else heard this?

@ missleggz, it never messed up my ends. i have been going for over a year now and my ends are fine... maybe it depends on how healthy the hair is or what kind of regimen you use?
