Ok ladies. I keep hearing about henna all up and THROUGH CN.com. Initially, I thought it was just for hair coloring, but I see people saying how it has helped them retain length. So...

...what exaclty is henna? Does it color hair, is it for length retention, is it a power, or liquid? Recommended for certain hair types/textures?

I can probably Google all of this, but would rather hear from those who use it and are familiar with it.

Henna is a powder you mix with other things to make a pudding like substance, and can be used on anyones hair. Scroll through this Henna forum, there have been similar questions and others that may help you. Such as these:
